No, she didn't use Photoshop or any other digital trickery.

Kids have a habit of finding trouble. But this little boy appeared to be in life-threatening danger. Was he really?

In Great Britain, Shanice Moore took her son Noah on a day trip to the zoo. Little did she know that this trip would cause a stir online.

She and her boy arrived at Colchester Zoo and started making their way through.

Noah especially liked the lions. He spent ages staring at them.

Shanice had to get a photo of him next to a lion that went right up to him.

Later on, when Shanice was looking through the photos of the day, she saw something shocking.

In the photo, it looked like Noah was inside the enclosure with the lion.

At first, Shanice couldn’t work out what had happened. She was pretty sure that she’d have remembered her son falling into the lion enclosure, after all!

But then she realized. That photo wasn’t the one of her boy posing with the lion at all. Instead, it was a picture she had taken of the lion on its own.

Noah was technically not in the photo. Instead, his reflection was.

Still, that illusion was impressive, and she uploaded it to the internet. Soon, it had been featured in many online news outlets and even the print press!

Also, this photo was special for another reason. A representative from Colchester Zoo told Shanice that the lion in that picture, who is named Bailey, rarely goes right up to the window.

She and Noah got very lucky that day, although you wouldn’t guess that if you saw the viral picture without knowing what was going on!

And Shanice will remember this visit to the zoo for another reason.

Noah has autism. He is usually non-verbal. Whenever he had been to the zoo in the past, he had not reacted to the animals. But this time, he loved seeing them. Shanice could see how far Noah had come.

“He was staring at the lion for ages, and because we’ve got a pet cat at home, he actually said, “kitty-kat,” which was amazing and very emotional for me.” – Shanice Moore

Since this photo made an impact, Shanice decided to print and frame it. From now on, she’ll always remember this day as the time Noah really started appreciating the zoo (and the time he went viral.)

And in the weeks since Noah’s visit to the zoo, he’s continued to develop rapidly. In fact, he even managed to participate in his first full week of school.

During this week of school, Noah was also able to put his education to practical use. One afternoon, after he had returned home from school, he saw his dad walking home and said, “Daddy,” for the first time. Luckily, Shanice was able to capture this moment on video.

Also, Noah and his parents are expecting a whole new family member any time soon. Shanice is currently pregnant with Noah’s little sister.

On October 27th, Shanice posted that the baby will be arriving in the next few months.

Hopefully, Noah will make an incredible big brother for his little sister.

Noah really shows why there’s nothing wrong with being a little different.

Noah is learning to love his life, just like he should. He is very lucky to have his family and an education that can help him thrive.
