As we all know, ducks sure love to be around water. Mother ducks usually lead their children ducklings to the nearest water source – it’s just a standard phenomenon that occurs all the time in our beautiful nature.
Only, what if there’s a house that’s obstructing ducks from crossing the street to the pond? Caroline Verhees from The Netherlands suddenly caught mama duck sneaking into her house with her children following her right to the nearest water source.
Caroline and the mother mallard already knew each other, as the duck used Caroline’s back garden as her own nursery for three years in a row. Caroline even leaves the sliding door open in her house now, so that the family of ducks can explore the neighborhood whenever they want to.
“One morning, I heard a ticking sound in the garden and, when I looked, I saw her with her 12 little ones, ticking on my window. I put away the dog, opened the front door and then the back door, and she walked through my living room,” Caroline said.
Caroline quickly videotaped the journey of mama duck and her babies and posted a video of it online. After going through her home, the ducks quickly cross the street and reach a pond where mama duck could lead her children to the water. Be sure to check out this amusing and remarkable video below.
