Whether you have a Dachshund or not, you can’t deny there’s something so adorable about this breed. Not only do they have an extra-long body, which is why they’re sometimes called a “wiener dog” or a “sausage dog,” but they also have a great personality.

An awesome breed

What makes the Dachshund so interesting is that they come in different sizes, hair types, and colors. Although they all have a long body, short legs, and pointed nose, you can find this breed with smooth, wire, and long hair.

Fun facts

The Dachshund was bred to scent, chase, and then flush out badgers, as well as other animals that burrow beneath the ground. In other words, they were initially used as hunting dogs. Today, most people choose this type of pup because they make wonderful companions.

Color options

When it comes to the Dachshund breed, most people think of brown or red. And while those are two options, there are many others. These dogs are also available in black and tan, cream, black and cream, chocolate and tan, blue and tan, fawn and cream, and more.

An unusual pup

But one pup is getting a lot of attention because he’s unique and in the most beautiful way. As mentioned, a black and tan Dachshund is one of the primary colors. In this case, that’s the color of this dog’s head. But the body…well, that’s another story.

Spots all over

Not only does this Dachshund have spots covering the rest of his body but instead of being black and tan like his head, they’re white. And as you can see, he looks very similar to a Dalmatian. Named Moo, this dog lives in Florida with his human, Victoria Hoffman.

A huge following

Moo, because he’s different, now has his own Instagram account. And people from around the world are so enthralled with this pup that he has over 13,000 followers. Shoot, a lot of people don’t even come near a number like that.

Just a baby

This Dachshund might be just seven months old, but he’s already making a name for himself online. His awesome coloring is known as piebald. According to experts, this is something that happens when there are unpigmented white spots present against a dark background. Without that condition, he’d be just a tan and brown dog.

All-natural

Victoria said that she’s often asked if Moo is wearing some kind of costume. But he’s not. This remarkable look is 100 percent natural. She stated, “He is a unique piebald because he has heavy ticking, black spots on his white coat, and he also has a pure black and tan head.”

Mismatched

Moo’s owner went on to say, “So, it looks like his body doesn’t match his head.” She’s right but who cares. He’s so stinking cute that doesn’t matter one bit. And as you can imagine, whether she posts pictures on his Instagram page or takes him for a walk, someone’s always commenting on his gorgeous appearance.

Social media star

Thankfully, Victoria has been kind enough to keep the photos coming. She’s always adding new pictures and it seems this Dachshund only gets cuter. Victoria explained that he also has a funny side to him.

For instance, he’s a toy hoarder. He also loves to snack on almonds and watermelon, and when napping, she’ll find underneath his bed, flat on his back. Especially with the pandemic, Moo has been a constant friend to her, which she said has made isolation much easier.
