Most parents know that it’s hard to enjoy a good meal around their children. Either they end up wanting to each everything mom and dad are eating, or they run around and don’t want to sit down long enough to complete a meal.

It’s just a part of parenting.

If you thought human parents are the only ones who have to deal with this, think again. A recent video filmed at the Foping Xiongmaogu Tourist Zone in Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province, China shows a mother monkey who is having the same problem.

The mother monkey has found a tasty piece of fruit to eat. All she wants to do it sit and eat it, but her baby has other plans. He wants to run around and play. Mom tries to get him to calm down and sit still long enough for her to eat, but it’s not working.

She decided to do what she must to do to keep him from wandering off.

She holds on to the end of his tail and keeps him nearby. The baby monkey tries to get away, but mom holds on to him tightly. It’s something most human moms can relate to. If only our babies had tails.

The tourists find the entire situation adorable. They can’t stop laughing at the monkey family, and most of them can probably relate to it, too.

This isn’t the only monkey mom who likes to show off for the camera, though.

An orangutan named Dana gave birth to a new baby at the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust in Jersey, and she couldn’t wait to show it to her keepers.

The birth was considered a miracle because Dana had had numerous complications with previous pregnancies and even had a miscarriage.

Doctors weren’t sure if she could have children, but they decided to perform an operation that they hoped would help her conceive. They were in luck. After recovering from her operation, Dana was able to get pregnant. The keepers hoped that she would be able to carry the baby to full term.

When Dana finally went into labor, the keepers couldn’t wait to see the baby.

They hoped it was an easy delivery for her and that the baby would be born healthy. Dana was excited, too. This is the moment she had been waiting for.

As soon as she had her baby, she cleaned her up and then took her over to show to the keepers. It was as if she knew that they were as excited to see her baby as she was. She also knew that they would help her take care of the baby. After all, they had been taking care of her for years.

They named the baby Keajaiban, and they call her Kea for short.

They shared the story of the baby monkey on their website, where people can “adopt” her and other orangutans like her. The website says:

“She’s a miracle, in fact, her name ‘Keajaiban’ is Indonesian for that very thing! Born to a mum who we were told would never have a child, ‘Kea’ came into the world thanks to the kindness and skill of a human doctor.”

These animal moms are proving that they aren’t so different from human moms. They want the same things for their babies, and they deal with many of the same struggles as human parents. Whether it’s trying to conceive or trying to tame a wild baby, they are remarkably like us.

The love of a mother knows no boundaries, and animal moms are just as capable of loving and caring for their babies as human moms.

These adorable videos remind us all how much we are alike. Hopefully, they can also remind us all how precious all lives are, so we can all do our parts to protect these amazing creatures and all their adorable offspring.
