Brooks Rabren and his new friend Lola had no idea that they were going to have one of the best days ever when they woke up that Tuesday morning.
The ultra-fun day started when Rabren stepped outside of his Birmingham, Alabama home and saw a pup he had never seen before.
The dog had a collar but the tags were gone.
The dog didn’t seem like a stray dog because he was healthy looking and seemed well taken care of.
Rabren decided to take a few pictures of the dog and posted them on Facebook hoping that it would be shared amongst locals and found by someone who was missing their dog.
So, now he had a dog on his hands. He figured he might as well make the best of the day and enjoy the company of his four-legged friend.
He decided that he and the dog would have the most fun they could possibly have.
And lucky for us, he documented the entire thing on Twitter.
First, he went and got her some dog food and treated her to a heaping bowl it.
“She was really hungry,” he explained.
Then they headed down to a local watering hole because “She decided she needed a swim.” So the dog got to have some fun water-filled playtime.
The dog had so much fun that she tired herself out. So, she took a nap.
In the meantime, Rabren got some school work done and decided he would call his new friend “Susan.”
“I think she’s sleepy after a big meal and some playtime. She has a collar but no tags so, for now, I’ll just call her Susan,” he told his Twitter followers.
When naptime was over, it was time for some more fun.
So, Rabren and “Susan” went out for a sail on Rabren’s boat.
“Sorry this thread is getting so long, we are just having so much! I unfortunately haven’t had a dog in a few years so I’m enjoying this for as long as I can,” Rabren told his followers.
Eventually, the dog’s parents saw Rabren’s Facebook message.
It turns out that the dog’s name wasn’t Susan, but Lola.
They arranged to meet up with Rabren and they took Lola home.
“Lola’s owners found her and were very happy she had such a fun day and that she’s okay!” Rabren wrote. “Hopefully she’ll drop by to see me again sometime soon!”
Rabren’s dream came true sooner than he thought it would.
A lot sooner. Within 10 minutes of being picked up, Lola was right back on his doorstep.
The two friends sat out on the porch and hung out for a while until Lola’s parents came to her pick her up again.
They decided to jam out to some music and dance a bit while they waited.
When they arrived, Rabren had shown them his Twitter feed and how much fun they’ve been having all day.

“When I showed her owner how much love Lola was getting on Twitter and how much fun Lola had today she almost started crying and thanked me for taking such good care of her,” Rabren said. “Made the day that much better for sure.”
Rabren said he just wanted to take care of her the same way he would want someone to take care of his pet if it were lost.
Not only did Rabren make Lola happy but he also made more than 22,000 people on Twitter happy. Check out Rabren’s original post below.
