After the trauma and neglect that many shelter animals have faced, lots of people worry that a rescue pet may not be the most affectionate or loving. However, while it may be true that lots of shelter animals have had a difficult past, this doesn’t mean that they don’t still have the love inside of them. They are simply waiting to it give to somebody who will treat them right.
This next video offers absolute proof of that. In footage that will melt even the coldest of hearts, we see an adopted shelter cat snuggling up with his owner for the night, and it’s clear to see just how much the pair love each other.
Meet Monty, a cat who looks a little bit different from the others.
Due to a chromosomal abnormality, he has no nasal bridge, which gives him his sweet little distinguishable face whilst also causing him to sneeze more than the average cat.
Despite being absolutely adorable, it took Monty three years at the shelter before he was adopted. People were unsure of whether to take him because of his differences – but we think they make him look even more beautiful. When a man came along and decided to take a chance on Monty, it soon made the sweet kitty’s wait worthwhile!
Both Monty and his owner formed an instant bond, and it soon became apparent what one of Monty’s favorite things to do was: cuddling. Every night before bed, Monty would climb up onto his owner’s chest and lay with his head resting on his owner’s.
One day, the adorable moment was captured on camera and shared onto Monty and Molly‘s YouTube channel by Monty’s owner. The video, which was captioned, “This is the best reason why you should adopt a shelter cat. Please share this important message with the whole world,” showed the pair cuddling up together and has over 2.9 million views.
Along with his sister (who is also a little different), Monty is now a bit of an online celebrity, and we’re not surprised, judging by how cute he is!
This sweet video just goes to show that rescue animals have just as much love to give as those who haven’t needed to have a second chance at life. We don’t know about you, but we’re itching to get down to our local animal shelter as soon as possible! Watch the adorable video below.
