There many people in the world who are doing their best to take care of our environment. They are inspiring as these people are also urging others to do the same.
They also have different ways to contribute to helping our planet.
Just like this man who loves the ocean and nature so much.

His name is Stalan Anjelo but on YouTube, he is popular by the name YOMADeek. You would see his passion based on his social media posts and his videos on his YouTube channel. Most of his videos feature his activities in the ocean.
He has saved numerous sea turtles that got entangled in nets. It’s also noticeable that he removed the barnacles of most of the turtles that he has rescued.
What’s with turtles that are covered in barnacles?
According to Olive Ridley Project, barnacles do not harm sea turtles most of the time. But it doesn’t mean that barnacles can’t cause discomfort.
In addition, when a turtle has excessive barnacles on its shell, it could be a sign of “general bad health”. This is probably one of YOMADeek’s reasons why he usually removes the barnacles on turtles.
In one of his videos, he showed how he rescued a turtle that was covered with barnacles.
The clip has received thousands of comments and more than 3.3 million views. To be able to eliminate the turtle’s barnacles, he brought it to the ship.
He used a little object to remove the barnacles but there were also moments where he had to use his hands. It also took a while before he got rid of the tough and sticky little crustaceans.
As soon as he got finished with it, he immediately tossed the sea creature to the sea.
YOMADeek’s love for sea turtles is truly inspiring.
For sure, many people appreciate that. However, in this particular video, most of the commenters did not like the way he removed the turtle’s barnacles.
Some of them expressed their concern.
“I appreciate that this guy was trying to help but as many other comments have pointed out, this is a very bad rescue that may even have made the turtle worse of from the shock and broken shell,” one commenter said.
Another viewer said:
“I really appreciate the fact he’s helping these amazing creatures BUT I don’t like the way he’s pulling them off. it’s chipping its shell. Granted, chipped shell is better than all them barnacles, etc BUT I’ve watched others do this anf they carefully chip them off with a knife so minimum damage is done to them. He’s just yanking them away. If you’re gonna do this amazing work I thankyou greatly on behalf of all the sea turtles BUT PLEASE do it properly n as gently as you can with the least damage possible.”
Although Stalan’s video has received mixed comments from the viewers, his kindness to sea creatures is still commendable. Hopefully, he won’t stop doing such a thing as it is really helpful.
Nevertheless, I hope that he also considers the comments of his subscribers especially if they have a point.
