We should never underestimate human kindness. Even though there are lots of terrible things we have witnessed, there are still good people who remain that restore our faith in humanity.
Due to the population of squirrels, they are considered pests in some regions.
Squirrels belong to the Sciuridae family, which most small and medium-sized rodents belong to. These critters are pretty common in almost all countries around the world. According to National Geographic, there are more than 200 species of squirrels scattered around the world.
Since their population is always growing, these creatures are considered pests in some areas. This is because people often see them burrowing holes in their backyard, or ripping up wires in the garage. Even though they’re not harmful to humans, they’re still capable of leaving a devastating mess in your house if not shooed away immediately. Moreover, it’s always common to see squirrels being caught up in accidents.
In Puerto Rico, a group of men found a squirrel who was electrocuted.
There was a squirrel who got caught up on a power line and got itself electrocuted. The squirrel’s life was already slipping away when a group of men passed by her. As she was on the verge of death, the people who found her tried to revive the poor squirrel back to life. They placed her on a motorbike’s seat and someone in the group volunteered to perform CPR on her to see if it worked.
The squirrel was still stiff from the electrocution but the man did his best to bring her back to life.
The man pumped his fingers on the squirrel. However, he knew pumping was not enough, as he saw no changes or responses from the squirrel. There is still another step in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and that is to blow air into the victim’s mouth. As the man was aware of it, he continued pumping the heart while he searched for the correct angle to blow air into the squirrel.
After a while, the man managed to find a way to blow air into the squirrel, and finally, he got his first response. The guy who performed the CPR noticed the squirrel blinking, and that was his sign that there is still hope for the poor squirrel.
The worried folks were soon sighing in relief after the operation was successful.
The squirrel began twitching her legs after the man blew more air inside her mouth. Shortly after, the squirrel was now breathing and was taking its time to recover from the shock. The squirrel continued to lie down as she was gasping for breath. At the same time, the man stroked the squirrel’s back as the people waited for her to be okay.
The squirrel suddenly jumped down on the ground and was now able to stand on her feet. Everyone was overjoyed seeing she was well, and the man told everyone on the scene to leave the squirrel be.
The squirrel stayed on the concrete for a while and ran away from the crowd not long after. Seeing the people worked hard to revive an electrocuted squirrel is just purely heart-melting. Be sure to check out the incredible video below!
