If there is one thing that everyone has gotten familiar with during the great quarantine of 2020, it’s Zoom! Zoom calls are the “hey, let’s grab coffee” of the coronavirus pandemic, and people everywhere are connecting with friends and family through the online chat rooms.
We have gotten to see some hilarious Zoom calls so far!
A television classic, The Office, even jumped in on the Zoom fun! John Krasinski (who plays Jim) got together the entire cast and had a big dance party through an online meeting! The ways that people are getting inventive while stuck at home never ceases to amaze.
Another funny Zoom call involved some canine callers.
Andrew Cotter is a Scottish sports broadcaster who is known for covering golf and rugby. His accent makes whatever he is saying even better! Cotter recently hopped online for a “Zoom meeting” with some of his work-mates, and the results were hilarious.
The proud owner of two dogs, Olive and Mabel, Cotter decided to get creative with his commentating since there are no sports to watch.
The entire video has such a witty and dry humor that you can’t help but laugh at Andrews’s deadpan responses and face! When you contrast it with the goofy view of the two dogs looking at a camera, you have a video that everyone loves.
After hopping on the call, Andrew waits for his “coworkers” to join.
Wanting to chat about “the situation at the moment,” Andrew asks if they can go ahead and get the meeting started. You don’t know what to expect until you hear the first chime bell letting you know that someone has joined, only to see a dog’s face pop on the screen!
Mabel struggles throughout the entire video while Andrew tries to address her.
Olive seems to be handling everything with great manners. It is Mabel that seems to have no understanding of “internet manners.” Olive connects to the meeting fine but Mabel is having trouble getting her video to work!
“Olive! Hi, thanks for joining us. Mabel…you are connected but you need to start your video. Down at the bottom of the screen, the little camera, it looks like a biscuit actually, just nudge it with your nose.”
Andrew lets them know the news “from the head office,” and he says they don’t have to worry about their jobs.
Andrew lets them know that even though they have been worried, the head office let him know that nobody is going to be getting furloughed. What a relief, I’m sure!
Addressing Mabel’s “lack of focus,” he talks to her like a struggling employee!
Every time that Andrew stops the meeting to address whatever Mabel is doing incorrectly, you can’t help but laugh. After seeing her switch off her camera in the middle of the conversation, it’s clear Mabel needs some help with her tech skills!
Time for the data.
One of the best scenes of the whole video is when Andrew talks about the “company report” of the two dogs. Their performance isn’t too hot and Andrew goes over the specifics.
“There are things that we have to try and improve on. I’m uncomfortable with this chat as well. The annual report says that you have pretty much ruined the sofas. 913 squirrels chased and none caught, so… not a good return.”
Olive seems to be getting a bonus for better behavior.
As Mabel struggles to keep focus, Andrew addresses Olive and lets her know that she will be getting a bonus for better behavior. Meanwhile, Mabel gets muted due to her making noise!
A great way to end the video.
Andrew nears the end of the “meeting” and decides to read a memo that was sent out by the executives. He reads the letter flatly and straightfaced, without any emotion.
“You’re a good dog, yes you are. Who is a good dog? You’re a good dog.”
