We don’t always know what happens in our homes when we go to sleep. Folklore tells that sprites come and spoil milk while we sleep and others say that animals move about according to the light of the moon. While we may never know exactly what goes on in the world while we sleep, one couple wasn’t expecting this!
On a Saturday night at 4 a.m., Jack was woken by his wife.

With a baby in the home, getting woken up at 4 a.m. isn’t that uncommon. The only issue is that his wife seemed to be waking him up for something urgent. You never want to get woken up by a nervous wife that late at night.
After his wife told him what was going on, Jack relaxed.
Thankfully, nothing was wrong, at least not with the baby. He soon realized that this wasn’t going to be an ordinary night, though. Talking to The Dodo, he said:
“I was sleeping and my wife all the sudden woke me up, and she said, ‘The baby’s OK … but there’s a puppy in our house.’”
Going downstairs, Jack decided to investigate.
It’s not every night that you wake up and are told that there is a puppy in your home, especially when you don’t have a puppy. Throwing on some clothes and making his way downstairs, Jack decided to get to the bottom of things.
In the middle of the living room was a small Lab mix.
While seeing a puppy in the middle of your room might cause you to involuntarily release an “awww”, this probably wasn’t one of those times. It didn’t make sense at all, especially since the house was locked up tight to make sure the storm didn’t hurt the home. Windows were shut tight and doors were locked.
Thinking quickly, Jack thought someone might be in the home.
A dog could never open a door, especially a locked one. Knowing that, Jack was worried someone was hiding in their home.
“The first thing I think is, ‘There has to be someone in our house,’” Jokinen said. “So I do a security sweep, making sure there’s no one hiding in closets or anything like that. And when I finish, I think, ‘How did this happen? A magical puppy?’”
