A woman has sighted a very shocking and quite unusual act of nature at the Kruger National Park in South Afrika. The footage was taken near the H10 Bridge and it sees a crocodile with sharp teeth slowly approaching his prey, a seemingly young lion.
When going on a safari in Africa, you’ll most likely see beautiful things nature has to offer, but unfortunately, some parts of nature and the circle of life are less amusing to see. The food chain is one of those things.
A crocodile eating a lion, for example, sounds a bit weird at a first glance. The lion was in the water, however, which is where the crocodile has the home field advantage. The young lion was crossing the Sabie river when he was being followed by the crocodile.
Luckily, it seems as if the lion sensed the presence of the crocodile. Even though the animal attacked very swiftly, the lion quickly managed to jump away in a fraction of a second.
“Oh my god,” says the woman who recorded the video. For a few moments, it appears that the crocodile successfully took down the lion, but the lion proved that ‘the king of the jungle’ can’t be taken down that easily. The lion quickly resurfaced and managed to run and swim away in shallow waters of the river.
