Fisherman notices a kitten swimming toward his boat
but there wasn't just one!

Even if you don’t know a lot about cats, you’ve probably heard they hate water. While a small number of felines don’t mind getting wet, the majority prefer to stay dry. According to experts, they don’t like how water feels on their body.

But professionals also claim that as fastidious creatures, they prefer bathing themselves by licking. So, in their mind, water isn’t necessary except to drink. Also, cats aren’t historically fond of water, meaning they’ve always been associated with dry areas.

But there’s always the exception

Some people have cats that love being in the water. Then again, kitties sometimes find themselves in a situation where getting wet can’t be avoided. That’s the experience two men out fishing had.

Just an ordinary day

Sitting in a boat in the middle of a lake, a man and his friend were enjoying some downtime. As avid fisherman, they were hoping to reel in the “big one.” But while they’re waiting for that to happen, one of the guys noticed something strange.

Not a clue

At first, they weren’t sure what they saw. They only knew it looked out of place. That’s when one of the men shouts back to his buddy, “You’re not going to believe what is swimming toward the boat.”

It got closer

As the “thing” swam closer, the guy knew what he was seeing although he couldn’t believe it. Coming as fast as it could toward them was a tiny kitten. How on earth did this little thing end up in the lake?

Unbelievable

There it was, this baby kitten trying desperately to reach the boat. In the video, which has now been viewed more than 8.1 million times, you hear the guy say, “a kitten.” He edges even closer to make sure he can reach it.

“This ain’t real”

As the man leans over to scoop the kitten out of the water, those are the words that come out of his mouth. During this entire process, both he and his friend are laughing. After all, it’s not every day you go fishing only to see a kitten heading toward your boat.

A yellow tabby

He grabs the kitten by the scruff of the neck to bring it safely onboard. That’s when you see this adorable yellow tabby with a white belly. From the cat’s size, it can’t be any more than three to four months old, maybe even younger.

Glad to be safe

As soon as he sets the kitten down, it shakes, eager to get the water of its tiny body. Then, this sweet baby lets out a soft meow. The guy is so shocked, he keeps saying, “Never in my life.”

But wait

As the kitten keeps meowing, the man and his friend look out toward the area where it came from. They realize this cat isn’t alone. Nope, there’s another one. At that point, the man says, “I bet someone threw them out.” Sadly, he’s probably right.

Here he comes

Sure enough, they spot a second kitten coming out of the brush and into the water. Perhaps encouraged by its sibling, this one decided these humans were okay. Completely dumbfounded, he one man encourages the kitten to keep coming…and it does.

Repeat performance

For a second time, the man leans over the boat, grabs the kitten by the scruff of the neck, and pulls it to safety. He then says, “They’re twins.” Once again, he’s right. The two cats look identical.

Talk about it being these kittens’ lucky day. We don’t know what happened to them but considering how sweet and gentle the men were, we’re sure they went to caring forever homes. You don’t even have to be an animal lover to appreciate this video. We invite you to click on it below.
