Viitor Fonseca is a professional cyclist from Brazil. One day, Fonseca was out for a training ride when he saw something very surprising: a tiny stray kitten wandering around on its own. The kindhearted cyclist quickly decided that he wanted to help this little kitten who clearly had nobody else in the world.
Fonseca approached the kitten and found that she was friendly. She let him pick her up and pet him.
Fonseca decided to bring the kitten home with him, but since he was on his bike, he had to get a bit creative about where he put the kitten. In the end, he decided to put the kitten in his shirt! Luckily, he was wearing a zippered shirt, and so he was able to use the zipper to secure the kitten against his chest.
At first, Fonseca wasn’t sure if the kitten would be happy. But to this surprise, the kitten loved being tucked into his shirt!
“Saving a life today,” Fonseca wrote on Facebook. “I’m glad that he liked me and was not clawing me.”
The kitten was very happy with this arrangement. As Fonseca pedaled down the road, the kitten decided she wanted to thank him for rescuing her. She showed her appreciation by giving him lots of kisses on his neck! Fonseca laughed and smiled as the kitten licked and nuzzled his chin.
“I love her,” he said in Portuguese.
Fonseca shot some video of his cat rescue, and he put on his Facebook page. The video quickly went viral, receiving over two million views. Everyone loved seeing the way this kindhearted athlete looked after a tiny, helpless kitten!
Fonseca and the kitten ended up cycling for about 6.2-miles together before they reached their destination. Once the kitten was safe, Fonseca then began looking for the perfect forever home for her.
Fonseca soon found the right home for the kitten. He was sure her new family would give her the love and care she needed.
Fonseca and the kitten said goodbye to each other, but we’re sure neither of them ever forgot about their amazing bike ride!
