But dog lovers that give these hounds a chance find incredibly loving and caring companions. That’s what the dog lover in this video found when their pit bull met a kitten for the first time.
You might think that bringing a cute little kitten to a big intimidating dog might be a bad idea. But that’s what this dog mom did when they picked up a new kitten. Can it work?
This dog mom is YouTuber 1984missdaisy who owns Licious, this sweet-looking pit bull. She wanted to bring something special into the household and decided that a new pet companion would be the perfect choice. so she adopted a small kitten and brought it home to surprise her innocent dog.
Now, every pet owner will tell you that the first meeting between pets is so important. Because it can set the stage for how calm or chaotic a house will be whenever you bring in a new pet. We’re lucky that this dog mom captured this first heartwarming moment.
It all begins when the kitten sniffs out their new household companion.
You might think that this tiny kitten would be afraid of the big huge dog. But this kitten was very curious and brave. So they walked right up to one of the dog’s paws and sniffed and licked at it.

While the kitten explores and plays, Licious just watches the kitten gently. What’s incredible is that the dog never moves an inch, giving the kitten plenty of time to play and learn about her. She doesn’t even look bothered by the kitten batting at her big paws.
Licious’ owner then asks:
“What’s that kitty doing to ya, Mama?”
The pit bull can’t hold back any longer and shows her love and support for the kitten.

Licious finally responds by wagging her tail and booping the kitten with her nose. This small gesture shows lots of love to the cute kitten.
Licious welcomes her new friend with small lick kisses and nose nudges. It’s almost like Licious’ maternal instincts are kicking in as she adopts the kitten as her own. You won’t believe how gently the dog showers the kitten with attention and care.

This meeting was a match made in heaven
In the film Ghostbusters, Peter Venkman says that cats and dogs living together is a sign of mass hysteria. But these little guys show that that couldn’t be farther from the truth. Licious has a new baby took after and care for.
But it’s hardly any surprise, since the AKC even says that certain dog breeds are great with cats. All it takes is a good introduction and socialization and these pets can learn to get along, just like Licious and her new kitty pal.
