Rescuers of the Dutch He’Art of Rescue International organization in Istanbul found the little pup Pascal in a box, and his skin was covered with industrial grade glue. Because of the glue, a sort of cement formed around Pascal’s skin and he was severely hurt.
He’Art Rescue shared a number of pictures and video’s of Pascal a couple of months ago when they first found him. According to the rescuers, a number of children had drowned Pascal in glue, just for fun. The glue acted “like a second skin in time and as thick as the cement, preventing blood flow to several points in his body”.
In the examination room, doctors immediately shaved Pascal’s fur so that he could be relieved of the glue. However, the pup also suffered from internal injuries due to the attack.
“As our doctors peeled the layer of glue that became as thick as cement, they discovered that one of his ears went necrotic because the blood flow was being prevented by the layer. Pascal is conscious, though in a lot of pain but his general state has not worsened.”
“Our heart is broken but we will not let Pascal go through this alone… We will do everything until he is completely recovered.”
The rescuers definitely kept their promise. After he was shaved, Pascal had trust issues and was in a state of shock for about a day. Luckily, after three months of rehabilitation, Pascal can now once again trust people and befriend other puppies and humans.
His determination is remarkable and the adorable pup once again has a full coat of fur. Pascal is completely unrecognizable compared to the video the rescue organization first shared.
For Pascal, this story has a very happy ending. A family from Madrid, Spain decided to adopt him. The organization and the family arranged for the transportation from Istanbul to Madrid. After the safe landing, the family already shared footage of Pascal running around on the warm beach and spending time with his new family.
