Good and selfless acts are slowly becoming rare in this world nowadays. People are often so busy in their lives that they can’t afford to spare some time to do a selfless good deed. However, the faith in humanity is not entirely lost as there are still a lot of people who will never hesitate to stop and help, just like these people helping each other to save a single pooch.
A black pooch was stranded in the middle of a canal, and one guy attempted to save him.
Somewhere in Almaty, Kazakhstan, a pooch was found stranded in the middle of a canal. The heavy water current was pushing the dog down toward the edge, but the pooch held strong to keep himself from being swept away. A man noticed the situation and immediately slid down toward the steep concrete to grab the dog before it was too late.
Only a single misstep was enough for the water to sweep even a man away, but this guy risked his life just to save another.
Their next problem was going back up to the surface.
There was no clear way out, especially with the steep smoothed diagonal concrete that led to the surface. With no stairs around, it was the only way for them to go. However, one could only do so little in the situation, and it was just impossible to climb back up while holding the dog.
Luckily, there were spectators that were willing to help the man and the dog. Three people made a human chain in an attempt to reach their hands towards the man on the other end. However, they were still so far apart.
The man with the dog experimented with some ways to save them from the running water, but none of them seemed to work.
Another stranger came running toward the scene in order to lend a hand.
A fourth person noticed the perilous situation and rushed toward them in an attempt to help all of them. He became an addition to the three-person chain and it was enough to reach the man and the dog below.
The rescuer held the dog’s nape tightly as he could as he also grappled himself to the chain. As they started pulling, the other spectators helped the guy on top to maintain his grip and balance.
Someone caught the situation on camera and shared it with the world.
This rescue attempt was done three years ago, and there was someone who got the chance to record the whole thing on the phone. As that person uploaded the clip to the internet, it instantly went viral. The clip was featured on The Dodo’s YouTube channel and it has been viewed for more than 49 million times.
With their heroic efforts, they were able to get the dog to safety.
As one person initiated the rescue, these people did not let his efforts go to waste. They may be strangers, but as they made that long, human chain, they became brother-in-arms in the heat of the moment.
Their unyielding spirit made it possible for the first guy to save the dog that was stranded in the canal. Thanks to them, they saved an innocent dog’s life.
