You’ve probably heard the term, “Art is subjective.” That means 10 people could look at the same painting yet each would have a different opinion of it, good or bad. Well, it seems this same rule applies to animals. At least for one man. While some people see a puma, he sees a “house cat.”
Not an ordinary kitty
Instead of the type of house cat that most people think of, this man has a puma. That’s right, a puma. Yes, his adorable pet is a cat. But she’s certainly not the traditional kind. Even so, this man loves his kitty to pieces.
Meet Messi
That’s the cat’s name and she’s gorgeous. And like a lot of pets, she misses her owner, Sasha when he’s not home. But instead of sleeping the time away while waiting for her human to arrive, this “kitty” takes a different approach.
Taking a video
Curious as to what his cat does while he’s gone, Sasha’s wife decided to take a video. That way, he could see how Messi acts while he’s away and when he returns. With what she captured, Sasha and his wife will always have memories of their precious pet.
Sharing online
What Sasha’s wife taped was so interesting that she chose to upload it on social media. Quickly, other people were just as mesmerized as this couple was. In no time, the video garnered more than two million views.
The beginning
At the start of the video, you see this rather large and well-cared for puma walking around the house. But then, it’s as though this cat realized her human wasn’t there. That’s when things became more interesting.
Where is he?
Messi makes her way to a large group of windows. She’s desperately searching outside for some kind of movement that would show her owner had finally come home. But then, something unexpected happens.
She loses her patience
Yep, while still staring out the window, this puma begins to cry out. It’s similar to what you would hear from kittens looking for their mom. It’s sort of heartbreaking yet quite sweet at the same time. If you’ve never heard the sound that a puma makes, you might find it somewhat alarming.
A different vantage point
Not seeing anything out the first set of windows, this kitty jumps on the couch to look out a different window. She stares intently. Messi sits there for quite some time, hoping that soon, her human will come home.
No luck yet
Without success at the second window, the puma returns to her first spot. There, she watches and waits. And during this entire time, she’s making her growling noise. Then, Sasha’s wife opens the back door. As Messi steps out, she finally sees her favorite human walking toward the house.
He’s home
At last, her owner is home and this cat couldn’t be more excited. The minute that Sasha steps on the back deck, Messi is ready for kisses and cuddles. Instinctively, her owner holds her close. It’s clear these two have a very special connection.
Relaxing
Now that her human is home, the puma can finally relax. Just like a regular house cat, she rolls over on her back in a submissive pose. And instead of her loud cries or growls as you might think of them, she purrs…loudly.
