As kids, we’re taught that “caring is sharing.” While we humans may think that we’re the only ones who have this philosophy, it turns out that some other animals also have the same idea. This video of two horses sharing a meal shows a great example of how generous animals can be.
The video begins by showing a gray horse happily munching on hay that’s being pushed through the bars in his stall. At first, it’s not clear who’s feeding him, but then the video moves into the next stall to reveal that a brown horse is giving the hay to his friend. Both horses seem to enjoy having a meal together, and they have a great system for sharing the food.
This cute video shows the strong bond that horses form. Horses are herd animals, and researchers have found that they tend to form subgroups inside their herd. Their closest friends are typically in their subgroup. Researchers have also discovered that horses will often buddy up with a horse that has a similar temperament and personality to a horse that they liked in the past. Once they’ve found their buddy, they’ll spend most of their time with them.
