This horse’s name is Dasher. And this poor animal was on the verge of giving up, as if waiting for death to come kncocking.
But death never came thanks to the efforts of very kind people who went out of their way to make sure Dasher came back healthy. This beautiful horse got another chance in life.
Mississippi Horses made sure Dasher got all the TLC he needed.
He was thin and really low on energy when they first saw him. The horse would barely stand, often just sinking down in the mud as if waiting to just close his eyes and leave this world.
But for some reason, Dasher did get up to get in the trailer his rescuer brought for him.
This horse still had some hope in him.
Just look at Dasher attempt to stand and walk. He’s got absolutely no strength in that frail body. He was mistreated and left to fight for his life.
Horses are such amazing creatures, and truly one of the planet’s most beautiful animals. So to see one in such a horrible state is really heartbreaking. He doesn’t deserve this.

Dasher couldn’t even stand for a few minutes. But after receiving care from the rescue, he began to eat and drink, and soon was able to stand for hours. He’d even try to run.
And true enough, as the days went by, Dasher regained his strength.
When once he would drain all his energy just to get up, Dasher could now walk and even run for a short distance. And what a beautiful horse he turned out to be!
Dasher now gets a lot of care and a lot of affection. And those are things he never had.
“This makes me feel really emotional. But that horse must have had an owner, so how can anyone mistreat an animal like that? It was heart-warming to see this horse bounce back so quickly after just a few days of food, water and loving care. It would lovely if animals could talk to us and tell us how they feel, because this one looks really grateful.” says SuperLittleTyke.
Dasher is beyond grateful.
And he showed his gratitude by standing up, walking, and eventually running for longer distances, even outpacing his new humans. He’s got a strong spirit and a strong will.
And just a month after his rescue, Dasher was seen running around the area all by himself. And then he walks over to give his rescuers his love in return.
