The most unlikely indoor pet was captured on camera chilling indoors and people cannot believe it. We expect to see pocket pets like guinea pigs and hamsters residing in a cage in the house.
Cats love lounging on the carpet, soaking up the sun as it streams through the windows. Dogs want to be as close as possible to their owners and enjoy cuddling up on the couch with them, even stealing their spot on the bed.
But one animal you wouldn’t expect to see meandering around the house is a huge horse. But Jessie has proved everyone wrong.
Jessie is a gorgeous liver chestnut horse that actually knocks at the door to be let in the house. His human mom Katie has no problem opening the door wide and letting him wander on in.
Katie’s aunt records Jessie sauntering smoothly into the house and checking everything out. He glances at the TV where “Friends” is showing and sniffs the fireplace and exercise bike.
“Do you want to watch TV Jess? Is that what you want to do pumpkin?”
We totally understand wanting to sneak into the house to catch an episode of “Friends.” It was one of the funniest sitcoms to air ever.
But the first thought we had is what happens if he lifts that tail and leaves a gift on the floor?
“Don’t go to the bathroom in here now…ok?”
Katie drops a bit of carrot onto the couch that Jessie snatches right up, a reward for behaving so well in the house.
“Such a good boy.”
The family dog Runner pops into view and the look on his face mirrors what most of us are thinking.
“The dog is like, ‘Why is the horse in the house?'”
An inquisitive creature, Jessie sniffs the floral arrangement, probably wondering if it’s edible. He’s about to head on into the kitchen to say hi to Katie’s aunt when his human motions for him to back up.
Katie plops down on the couch and swings her legs up, resting her boots on the arm of the sofa. Jessie sets his sights on his human and sniffs her, then nuzzles her face in a show of affection.
It’s adorable the bond they clearly have!
“Katie loves this horse so much. Abigail gets neglected. Randy gets some loving but Jessie gets it all the time.”
His adventure has apparently become too exhausting, because after sniffing the couches, Jessie begins to head toward the bedroom to take a nap. Everyone shouts “whoa!” and he stops, showing how well trained he is.
“Time to go out. Go eat some hay.”
Jessie expresses his displeasure at this thought that he snorts and turns around. Katie calls for him but he clearly doesn’t want to leave.
In fact, Jessie paws at the carpet like it’s the fresh crisp pasture grass, indicating he’s ready to lay down. He bends his leg, ears forward, uninterested in going back outside in the heat away from his humans.
“Jessie, you better go outside. Go on baby. Uh oh. What if he has to poop?”
There isn’t remotely enough room for Jessie to lay down on the plush living room carpet, then roll around and drag himself back upright like horses tend to do, so Katie grabs some yummy carrots to try and coax him back outside.
“Jessie get out of this house.”
Not even carrots can lure this usually amenable horse outside. He clearly wants to stay in the air conditioning, probably watch “Friends” and lounging around, but finally, he gives in to the tasty pull of the carrot and slowly strolls back outside to his native environment.
While the family loves it when Jessie comes to visit, no one wants him to have an accident indoors so his time with them inside must be limited. Isn’t this guy the best house guest?
