The atmosphere was electric, the crowd on the edge of their seats as the horses lined up for the 2022 Ultima Handicap Chase at Cheltenham.

Among the contenders was Corach Rambler, an eight-year-old trained by Lucinda Russell, with jockey Derek Fox holding the reins.

The race was a three-mile-one-furlong stamina test, a true challenge for both horse and rider.

Little did the spectators know, they were about to witness a performance that would etch itself into the annals of racing history.

The race began with Corach Rambler at a seemingly disadvantageous position, being slowly away due to the standing start.

The horse had only one competitor, Belargus, behind him in the early stages, making a victory seem like a distant dream.

But Derek Fox, embodying patience and strategic thinking, did not let the initial setback deter him.

He knew the race was long, and anything could happen before the finish line was crossed.

As the horses thundered down the track, Corach Rambler maintained a position with more competitors in front than behind, even at the top of the hill.

The spectators’ eyes were glued to the leaders.

Gericault Roque and Oscar Elite seemed to be in a fierce battle for first place.

But, unbeknownst to them, a storm was brewing further back in the form of Corach Rambler, who began making relentless progress on the downhill section of the course.
