Many people saw Buzu on the streets and didn’t give him a second look. They wondered why such a mangey dog was following them.
It was because he needed help.
He would try desperately to get the attention of passersby on the streets of Romania in hopes that they would toss him a scrap of food or show him some other kindness.
Most people would just walk right by Buzu without giving him a second glance. But one person did show Buzu a kindness.
Someone made Buzu a makeshift doghouse out of a cardboard box and an old chair cushion.
When Howl of A Dog nonprofit rescue organization caught wind of Buzu’s plight on the street, they decided to find out what they could about him.
They asked around a bit and found out that he had been on the streets for about a year.
It seemed that Buzu had just gotten used to his life on the streets and figured his fate was to be alone scavenging for the rest of his life.
Poor Buzu was also in terrible health. He was completely covered in fleas. The condition was so bad that he would constantly scratch and large patches of his skin were completely bare.
Poor Buzu just looked sad and defeated by life. When Howl Of A Dog returned to rescue Buzu, they found that his cushion was gone and he was wary of them.
They tossed him a few treats to gain his trust.
Eventually, they did. Eventually, he realized they were there to help him. Buzu took the treats and allowed the rescuers to pet him which made him happily wag his tag.
The rescuers brought him into their facilities and immediately gave him a much needed medicated flea bath.
And I’ve never see a dog look so happy in the bath.
He looked relieved as his rescuers lathered him up. Upon closer examination of Buzu they noticed that his skin condition was actually chronic. He has patches of hair that never grew back.
His teeth were also in a terrible condition and were torn and missing from all the unhealthy or harsh food, like bones, that he was eating on the streets.
Buzu spent an entire year with Howl of a Dog before he was adopted by a loving mom.
And his new mom Emma is the best mom ever. She spoils Buzu rotten, as he should be. He has a cozy home, lots of food, big open grass to play in, and cute outfits.
He dresses up for holidays and always gets a doggie cake on his birthday or a big plate of sliced sausages. He even has a new doggie sister that he loves.
Buzu is no longer the sad defeated dog he once was.
He even won an award for being “The Happiest Most Waggy Tailed Dog.” So, life has turned around big time for this sweet boy thanks to the folks at Howl of a Dog. You can learn more about how you can help Howl of a Dog help dog’s like Buzu here and more about Buzu’s story in the video below.
