When you are a cat, there is nothing better than climbing around on things. In most homes, that means jumping around on the couch, the curtains, or even climbing up on a person’s back while they are watching TV.
However, what if someone made you your very own cat jungle gym to play on?
That’s what happened to one cat name Zach recently when his owner decided to build him the most epic apartment towers that we have ever seen.
The video of Zach exploring his new play area is something that you have to see for yourself.
In the last few weeks, it has accumulated tens of thousands of views.
It shows two giant cat apartment towers, several stories high.
Each story is basically like a little dollhouse for cats. Every floor features a door that the cat can crawl in as well as an outside balcony and seating area.
The attention to detail is unbelievable.
There are little windows that were made by 3D printing with flower beds outside of them and a portico door with a tiled floor at the entrance. Not to mention, there is even a functioning porch light!
As far as the cat is concerned, it’s pretty much a sleeping area though.
That’s how Zach regularly uses the space.
However, the coolest part about the setup is the suspension bridge on the top story. It’s a long wobbly rope contraption with little wooden planks.
When Zach first attempts to walk across the bridge in the video, he is obviously a little hesitant.
He doesn’t know what to think. After all, with every step, it sways back and forth and bounces around. If cats weren’t so nimble, it would probably be quite dangerous. However, even if he happens to fall, we’re sure he would land on his feet and be just fine.
Still, Zach really takes his time going across it.
He walks all the way to one side of the bridge where it is attached to a ledge on the second tower, then he walks right back to the main apartments. It’s pretty funny to watch, but Zach is used to it. It’s not the first cat tower he has climbed around on.
In fact, building incredible cat towers is owner Rob Coutu’s specialty.
On his Facebook page Kitty Towers by RACoutu he talks about some of his recent projects in more detail.
“I started this page to showcase the project I did for the love of my two cats, although my Savannah cat became possessive of both of them and won’t let the other one use them, but at least he uses them all day long,” said Coutu.
It turns out, Coutu has two cats, but his Savannah cat Zach immediately claimed this tower.
He is now the sole user of the entire giant property. It’s big enough for several cats, but Zach doesn’t care. He wants it all to himself. The other cat is limited to the first floor.
The most interesting part about the whole video though is how many dozens of people contacted Coutu after watching it asking if he could make a cat tower for them as well.
Everyone wants their own cat tower in their home.
Coutu said he would, although, it wouldn’t be cheap.
“Because of the demand, I am considering making them for people as a custom install, once I have sorted out all the legal stuff,” writes Coutu.
“That said, the price would vary but the larger tower shown on the left would most like start around $5,800 est. plus tax and any extra related fees.”
If you have an extra $5800 or so dollars lying around, why not? Your cat will certainly appreciate the investment. Although, for that price, we think it should come with a built-in cat swimming pool and spa as well.
At the end of the day though, when it comes to a cat’s happiness, there is no price too steep and no tower too luxurious. Our feline friends deserve the best.
