Losing a pet can be one of the hardest things to go through. Unfortunately, it happens even when we do our best to take care of our furry friends. The plethora of “Lost Dog” signs that are found at stop signs across the world are testament enough to that. One woman lost her dog and then got a surprise she never expected.
One dog groomer was about to experience the surprise of a lifetime.
In a viral video, one woman went from tragedy to joy, with all of it being caught on camera! While we don’t have details on her name, we can still see a few things. The woman is a dog groomer that works with some of her friends. A dog groomer is a special job because you have to REALLY love dogs in order to work there! You can’t sorta be a dog person and spend hours a day cutting dog hair.
This lady, however, was doing so with a heavy heart.
A few months ago, this particular woman had lost her own dog. We don’t know if it ran away or if it passed — all we know is that this woman was probably really hurting. Working with dogs every day with the fresh reality of your own dog’s passing is an incredibly difficult thing. Pushing on, however, she continued to come into work every day.
We catch up to her while she is grooming a little white dog’s hair.
The little dog is named Cotton and seems to be having a blast sitting with the woman. Many dogs are afraid of the groomers but this woman probably had a peace about her that the dogs could pick up on. While she is sitting there on the grooming table, we hear a voice come through.
In the “customer service” type voice people do, the receptionist talks to the woman like she is a customer.
She looks at her and says, “Uh, yes, we just wanted to let you know that your dog, Cotton, is ready to go now.” The woman who lost her dog lets out a chuckle and turns to her friends who are playing the joke on her. She laughs and says, “Now why are y’all doing that!”
Coming around the divider, the “customer service woman” starts to talk to the woman grooming Cotton.
The groomer keeps laughing and tells her friends that they are crazy! She seems to be one happy lady. Still not catching on to what’s happening, she looks at the little dog on her table and says, “Oh Cotton, you are very cute.” If only she knew!
Another friend walks around the corner and drops a “take-home bag” on the table.
If you don’t know, many groomers give little gifts to the families when they come to get their dog from the store. Usually, it includes a little bandana, a treat, and sometimes a little bit of doggy cologne. When her friend dropped it off on the table, she started to put the pieces together!
“What are y’all doing!”
Letting out a shrieking “NOOOO” and then immediately crying, the woman finally realizes what is happening. All of her friends tricked her into grooming a puppy they had gotten for her since hers was gone. The tears were obviously tears of joy.
