Pets are commonly treated as part of a family.

They are regarded as either a brother or sister to their children or fur babies as some people call them.

And since they are already part of the family, losing one is heartbreaking as well.

We grieve and mourn for those who already crossed the rainbow bridge.

To help in coping with the pain, people tend to either bury their pets in a pet cemetery or make a proper ceremony after they have cremated their furry companion.

Remembering their furry friends who passed.

Some would only need photos or any item that helps them remember the good times when their pets are still alive.

While others would go to great lengths by using the real skin of their pets to create a replica, the process is called Taxidermy.

However, a man from the Philippines had the idea to create a realistic replica of pets who have died.

It’s one way to help a fur parent move on with life.

This idea came to light when the factory owner himself experienced losing a pet.

This is already an existing process but not quite as popular since they tend to go with the traditional way of preserving their pets’ memories.

There are a few companies in the US that create plushie toys based on a dead pet’s physical appearance.

Imagine the craftsmanship of those who make them so the final result will be almost similar to when the pet was still alive.

David Tan, the owner of Pampanga Teddy Bear Factory, had a golden retriever that passed in 2019.

Since he was doing plush toys, he asked his pattern maker to create a realistic replica of his dog using the same materials.

Since then, Tan, together with his 20 employees, has been creating realistic plush toys of pets who have passed away.

They used photos of the pet as a reference to create the customized plushie.

This includes the pets’ distinct markings and silhouettes.

The company has now made memorials for dogs, cats, hamsters, and rabbits.

“They look realistic, but they’re just toys,” said Tan in an interview. “We’re not taxidermy so it removes that ick factor,” he further added.

Since they are not using the real skin of the pet, they are using 100% genuine stuffed toy materials that a fur parent can cuddle and hold.

We will do anything to help cope with the grief.

Each custom toy takes about two days to finish at a cost of 65 dollars.

But for someone who is still in the process of grieving the loss of their beloved furry friend, any price for a bit of comfort can be worth it.

And that they appreciate these ideas to help lessen the burden.

One user commented, “Being from Pampanga in the Philippines and now living in Toronto, this man makes me proud. Also, what a superb concept! He’s one smart and creative man. Perfect orator!”
