Boo the golden retriever is one charming dog. She thinks that she can get away with murder, as long as she smiles afterward.

One evening, Richard Page walked into his bedroom to find Boo, his beloved golden retriever, breaking the house rules.

She wasn’t allowed on the bed, but she’d done it anyway.

“What are you doing on the bed? Hey, what are you doing?” Richard asked Boo. But Boo had already worked on her defense.

She smiled up at him as if to say that everything was fine and this was where she belonged.

But Richard kept on questioning the dog, and eventually, she stood up and walked to the edge of the bed.

She then sat there and kept on smiling, hoping that this would be a fair compromise.

The cats were also breaking the rules. But of course, they didn’t care about charming their way into staying on the soft surface.

Instead, they were more like, “Deal with it, you foolish human.”

Luckily Richard was recording the moment when he caught Boo and her attempt to charm her way out of the situation.

He uploaded the footage to his YouTube channel, where it soon spread far and wide. To date, the video has gained over 400,000 views. It also has more than 7,400 likes and 250 comments. People have been saying things like this:

And this isn’t the only video of Boo that Richard has uploaded.

The first time that Boo appeared on YouTube, she was wearing something strange.

Richard decided to put a wedding veil on her.

The dog appeared to love dressing up as a bride, as she smiled up at Richard as soon as it was on her head.

Later, Richard shared some incredible news about Boo with the world.

She was pregnant!

At first, Richard had no clue that Boo was pregnant. For the first three and a half weeks, she was her usual self.

Then she got tired out a little more easily and became grumpier.

After that, she got morning sickness.

When this happened, Richard took Boo to the vet, who confirmed that the dog was pregnant with at least six puppies.

Luckily, Boo’s pregnancy went well, and she gave birth to a litter of healthy puppies.

Soon, the puppies were running around the home. Just like Boo, they had lots of attitude!

Richard uploaded another video of the puppies “fighting” with the mom.

Of course, they weren’t being aggressive, just playing. Boo was more than happy to play back.

Clearly, Boo had her hands full with her puppies.

Luckily, they all soon found forever homes, and Boo could enjoy some peace and quiet again.

In the first video and in many of her other videos, Boo smiles at her owner. But when you think about it, isn’t that weird? Most animals don’t know how to smile.

Kim Brophey, a canine behavior consultant and TEDx speaker has explained how and why dogs smile.

According to her, a dog’s tendency to smile is due to evolution and manipulation. Over the years, dogs learned to smile as a social mechanism. And they smile so often around people because, “Dogs are masters at human behavior observation and manipulation.”

So yes, Boo was quite literally trying to smile her way out of trouble when she leaped onto the bed. Even science says that that’s what was happening!
