Baburao (aka Babu) is a much-loved pug. There are years worth of videos on his dad’s YouTube account to attest to that.

For example, Babu gets to watch television:

Baby Babu’s first time with a chewstick is set to music.

And Babu gets his fair share of belly scratches.

All of these are occasions for videos of the beloved Babu, who clearly brings his family lots of joy.

Heck, Babu even has his own Instagram page!

And while the little pug is clearly his dad’s pride and joy, the little guy is virtually obsessed with his Uncle Manoj.

How do we know?

Well, one of Babu’s videos went viral because there’s nothing funnier than seeing a pug go berserk.

The Dodo picked up the footage in 2017 and made a cute video out of the reunion of Babu and his uncle after the two hadn’t seen each other in almost a year.

Uncle Manoj starts out with a little teasing – he’s hiding on the bed under a blanket. But it’s not hard to tell that something is amiss. And there’s no doubt Babu can smell his old friend.

The pup knows his uncle is in the house, but since the lump on the bed isn’t moving, he leaves – perhaps to find him elsewhere?

He’s already managed to sniff out his phone – after all, a dog will find just about any new item in the house.

This pug is pretty smart too – he knows the phone owner is the one under the blanket because he paces between the two items.

But when will Uncle Manoj emerge?!

Babu decides to come back into the room to see if he can make it happen.

His tail is wagging furiously in anticipation of the moment when he can finally jump all over his uncle, but they’re really making him work for it!

Dad keeps asking “Where’s uncle?” and poor Babu is just sitting there like, “Dude, he’s right here and I don’t understand why you can’t just take off the blanket!”

Finally, Babu is over this game that seemingly has no end, so he doesn’t want to play anymore. He goes to take a seat on the couch.

The surprise can come to him now.

Well, except, pugs aren’t really patient creatures. He pouts for a few seconds before setting off to smell the shoe rack and anything else his uncle might have touched.

At some point the guy has to come out and greet him, right?

And then, AT LAST, Manoj peeks his head out from under the covers. So when Babu enters the room a third, torturous time, it’s clear that the blanket is now fair game to attack.

He covers his uncle with kisses, unable to control himself, and he tries to jump in every direction at once.

Pugs make the funniest faces, so Babu looks positively gobsmacked at what he’s seeing when Manoj finally reveals himself.

I’ve always loved how a dog’s first instinct upon seeing their another after a long time is to PILEDRIVE them with their entire body mass. That’s raw, uncontrolled excitement at its finest. We don’t deserve dogs,” joked one commenter.

And that’s a great description of what Babu does.

There’s no doubt these two are thrilled to be reunited.
