Life can seem very big and scary when you’re a two-week-old puppy.

At this stage of their lives, puppies still depend on their mom for food and comfort, and although they can’t stand up, they will have learned to pull themselves around on their bellies. Being so dependent on their mama means that if she ever goes missing, a two-week-old puppy can become very frightened! Even if it turns out that mom has been there all along.

That’s exactly what happened in a video we stumbled across on YouTube, which shows a pen full of adorable two-week-old golden retriever puppies. When mom goes missing, most of the pups are able to find her when she returns again. But one little pup works himself into such a state, and we just want to give him a big cuddle!

The video was posted onto YouTube by the puppy’s owner and is captioned:

‘Really cute moment I captured of Jimbo (white collar) and his mom when he was two weeks old. Six weeks later, we ended up bringing him home :)’

The short clip ended up becoming an instant viral success with over one million views and 16k likes, making Jimbo the pup a little celebrity! And we’re not surprised, because it’s the most adorable thing we’ve watched today.

At the beginning of the video, Jimbo can be seen in the corner of the pen. He’s separated from the other pups, and looks very lost. But he seems to be on a mission to find his mom, and he drags himself around on his belly frantically in search for her whilst whining loudly.

Hearing her little one’s call, the mama soon makes an appearance. As she heads into the pen, all of the puppies excitedly crowd around her to try and get some milk and snuggles.

But poor little Jimbo is still looking totally lost! He spins round in a circle as if trying to look for his mom whilst whining repeatedly. It’s like he can smell her, but he hasn’t quite picked up where she is!

At two weeks, puppies will begin to open their eyes. Their hearing and vision will develop, but they won’t be able to see clearly until around week eight. So we can totally understand why this little pup had such trouble finding his mama.

But Jimbo has a great mom. She notices that the little guy is becoming very distressed as he continues to search for her, so she stands up and walks over to him, nudging him with her body so that he knows she’s there.

The other pups follow her lead and everyone settles down in Jimbo’s corner.

Finally, Jimbo is reunited with his mom. The little guy snuggles up happily to her as the others come to join the cuddles. He feels safe with his mom, and he doesn’t want to leave her side just quite yet. What a top mama! Watch the adorable video below.
