The ongoing pandemic is the worst.
It really is.
In fact, Marcela Goldberg has noticed an uptick in abandoned dogs since the onset of the pandemic.
So not only are humans around the globe suffering but so are common household pets.
Everything was put into perspective when a local pooch was abandoned on a bench.
The previous “owners” left nothing but a note.
“There were already several neighbors gathered who had brought him water and food because they left him tied to the bench with nothing. But they could not get close because the puppy was terrified, growling and snipping.”
I bet he was so scared!
No organism – human or not – should be subject to such foolishness!
Fortunately, a lot of people in the world are pretty swell.
Some even took the time and effort to feed the protective, scared dog!

Here’s the English translation:
“Today, Sunday, November 22, we received the report of this little dog, abandoned on a bench on a median, with a note asking to be adopted as he suffers abuse. We came as soon as possible to protect him.”
There are some amazing people still in the world!
A heartfelt note was scribbled out on a nearby piece of notebook paper.
The note, originally in Spanish, put things further into perspective.
Originally, his name was Max.
Here’s the full English translation:
“Hi, please adopt me: Max. Please, I ask that you adopt this cute dog and you take good care of him. It hurts a lot to leave my dog here but I made the decision of leaving him because my family used to mistreat him and it would always hurt me to see him in that condition. If you’re reading this and your heart wavers, please adopt him and take good care of him. If not, please leave this note in its place. That way others can read it and adopt him. Thank you.”
My heart is wavering pretty hard right now!
So what next?
“We contacted a trainer with experience in aggressive dogs who watched the situation by video call and gave me instructions until we managed to pass the loop [over his head] and cut the other chain.”
Keep up the great work!
Max will be happy in no time!
Goldberg and friends took him to a nearby shelter.
The 7-month-old puppy, formerly named Max, was soon renamed Boston.
And sure enough, he became friendlier and friendlier as the days went by!
Getting over trauma isn’t easy.
Being abandoned by your “family” is pretty tough, too…
These days, playfulness and trust are slowly returning to Boston’s everyday routine.
Goldberg sees the beauty in Boston.
“He is sweet, very affectionate, he loves to give kisses and play with the ball that the vet gave him.”
After days in the shelter, Boston’s a new pup!
He’s come so far!
These days, he’s awaiting adoption into a loving family. I’m sure he’ll find one soon!
