Everyone’s a sucker for pets being adorable to each other. It’s a welcome change of pace from the constant play-fighting, and sometimes actual fighting, that pets tend to do in most households. Just give them some time and guidance, and your pets will be the best of friends in no time.
And it’s an absolute joy to see the results in other people’s pets too. It may just be one of those pricelessly sweet things that can give you a much-needed dose of happiness every now and then.
In Guangzhou, a certain pet-owner has a Golden Retriever and a white cat, named Snowball.
The two formed one such unbreakable bond, and their owner was kind enough to show the rest of the world.

Photos alone weren’t enough to do justice to how precious these two are, so we’re treated to an entire video instead. No complaints here.
The video was originally posted to Douyin, the Chinese equivalent to TikTok. The account for them already sits at over 143,000 followers. The internet loves cats and Retrievers, so that felt inevitable.
The Retriever, nicknamed Duo Duo, clearly loves his best friend above anything else. Revealing only their surname, An, their owner says that they’ve grown inseparable since warming up to each other in the same house.
He goes to town with the kisses and snuggles, and Snowball enjoys each one.
Despite being several times the cat’s size, Duo Duo is as gentle as can be. Something Retrievers are well known for. Snowball is as happy as a cat can be. I would be too with a Golden Retriever as my best friend.

With his head alone being nearly as big as Snowball, that presents the perfect opportunity to cover every inch of Snowball with kisses.
And everyone knows Retrievers are the best at kisses. A kiss from a Golden Retriever is a powerful source of serotonin. I’ll take 100, thank you.
Snowball is eager to return the favor.
After that long session of Retriever kisses, Snowball gives Duo Duo the biggest, warmest hug that his little kitty arms can give. It’s a pretty good hug by the look on his face, ears perked back and everything.
Duo Duo is eager to let him stay that way. In fact, he seems like he’d be happy to sit still the whole day if Snowball wanted it. If the size difference between Golden Retrievers and people was just like this, you can be sure we’d all be laying down and hugging them the whole day too.
Although we’re perfectly happy with our normal-sized Golden Retrievers. They’re perfect just the way they are.
Snowball certainly seems to think so. As for house cats, let’s just say we’re lucky to have them at their normal size. Any documentary about big cats demonstrates that pretty well.
So they’re perfect at their size, and perfect for each other too. They’ve effortlessly captured the hearts of everyone who viewed the video. Love goes beyond species once again. Duo Duo is one good boy, and he deserves all the treats and pets.
And I’d certainly line up to pet Snowball too if I could.

I’m in love with these two, but probably not as much as they love each other. We should be super grateful to Mr. An for sharing this precious duo with the rest of us. We all probably needed a reminder of how much sweetness the world still has.
