Dogs and books—two things that are so different yet so similar as well. Both can provide joy and comfort to humans in the most special ways.

Now, what if we combine the beauty the two bring? This is the case for a bookstore in California.

Ruby’s Books is a bookstore where Ruby, a golden retriever, is responsible for brightening up every customer’s day.

This whole concept is the brainchild of Stacy Gould, Ruby’s human. Everything about the bookstore was carefully thought of by the whole family. And although this is a family affair, everyone else had work and school to do so Stacy knew that she will be manning the store daily with her puppy Ruby.

Since Ruby will be in the bookstore every day, the family decided to name the store after the adorable dog.

Bias aside, the family knew how Ruby’s natural charm and extremely sweet personality can make anyone’s day better so it made sense for the family to make her the star of the store. And this is when they coined “Ruby’s Books”

The bookstore houses a top-quality collection of books from various genres. Toys and gifts are also available in the store so even the kids will truly enjoy the place.

Ruby turned out to be excellent at what she was set out to do.

She would happily and lovingly greet the guests, who, by the way, are so quick to fall in love with this furry manager.

It has been just a year and a half since Ruby’s Books opened yet it has easily become a huge part of the community.

A huge chunk of this success is definitely owed to Ruby—from giving the customers the warmest welcome to keeping the bad guys away. Don’t forget the cute belly-rub begging and the endless asking for yummy doggy treats.

Literally, the good boy can just lie there and nap yet impact everyone’s day positively. What a charmer!

To ensure the doggo’s work-life balance, Ruby only works from Monday to Friday and spends the whole weekend spending quality time with her family.

The whole community now truly adores Ruby. Stacy even said, “people come for the books but stay for the dog!” And can we actually blame them? Just look at her!

Reading a good book with a sweet dog by your side is too dreamy to imagine. It can easily release all the worries and stress away. Ruby’s Books is truly good for the soul.

Ruby is undeniably the best manager in town at 6 years old. If you want to visit Ruby’s Books, get ready to have your heart stolen by this charming girl.

Apparently, Ruby isn’t the only furry co-owner in the world. In Vilnius, Lithuania, a bookstore with a niche in pre-owned and pre-loved books is managed by Kukutis, a ginger cat who can easily take your breath away.
