There sure are plenty of reasons why some families decide to keep a pet in the house, and one of them is because of their kids wanting one so badly. However, it is unwise to give kids a pet without letting them know how much work they are. First, parents should know if their kids are responsible enough to take care of a pet.
These parents knew exactly what to do when their daughters asked them for a puppy.
Julie Dawn has two daughters, and one day, they took a visit to a nearby local animal shelter to look at some puppies. During their visit, Julie’s daughters found an incredibly adorable puppy and asked their parents to take it home. When Julie and her husband saw their daughters’ enthusiasm, they knew it was time for their plan to go into motion.
Julie and her daughters had a heated debate inside their car.
Julie instructed her kids to go back into the car so that they could go home without the puppy. When they were finally back at the car, you could see the kids being mad at their parents for not taking the puppy home.
The younger sibling started crying uncontrollably while her elder sister desperately held back her emotions. As they sat in the car, they had a heated discussion about why their parents did not bring the puppy back with them.
The younger daughter said that the puppy was cuter than any other dog in the shelter while her sister backed her up by saying that the pup also has a more unique personality than the others. Julie repeatedly told her daughters that there would be other puppies out there; however, the daughters said that it won’t be the same puppy they fell in love with.
Julie continued the debate until she was sure that her daughters were ready for their first pet.
When the younger daughter asked Julie how she could not get the puppy, Julie told her in response that they were not ready yet especially since they didn’t have a house for the puppy yet.
“You’ve lost your chance of getting a puppy that was so cute,” the younger daughter told her mother after a series of arguments. “What if she’s gone by now?”
Once Julie realized that both of them were serious about getting a pet, she called the girls’ dad back in the car. To their daughters’ surprise, their dad brought their favorite puppy with him in the car.
The girls could not contain their excitement after seeing the adorable puppy. Even the strong older sister cried with joy after she saw her dad with the puppy in his arms.
The girls’ day was magically restored with a new addition to the family.
Julie’s daughters were speechless for a short while but they were excited about finally bringing their first pet home. They named the puppy Buddy and he was indeed an adorable dog. The dad handed Buddy to the sisters to snuggle.
What an amazing day for the family. Surely, Buddy will love being loved by the sisters at his new home.
