Corgis. They’re cuteness on four stubby legs with expressive dark eyes, perky ears and a thick furry wheat-colored coat. Seriously adorable! They only reach upwards of 10 to 12 inches tall and weigh an average of 30 pounds. They fall into the herding group of dogs, according to the American Kennel Club, which means they’re full of energy and are zippy little things. They’re one of the more amenable small breeds and surprisingly athletic for their stature.

While many people love this breed, there’s one particular corgi that has caught everyone’s attention around the world. His name is Gen and he hails from Japan. At the age of five, he’s spry and quite active. He’s also quite the comedian. Gen loves being around people and can’t get close enough to his owners, preferring to sleep with them. However, Gen also suffers from incurable hereditary chronic renal failure. The disease causes Gen to go potty more than usual, excessive thirst, anemia, extreme tiredness and high blood pressure. He also was born with convulsive seizures prostatic hyperplasia. Currently, he’s on dialysis three times a week, receives four injections and six types of medicine.

Despite the health issues he faces, Gen is a hoot to be around. He constantly has the cutest expressions on his face all the time regardless of what he’s doing. Whether he’s running, sleeping, stealing treats or playing, his looks are simply precious! His owner credits the happy life he leads for his adorable looks. Check them out in the slideshow!
