If one of your pets has ever gone missing you’ll know how absolutely terrifying and heartbreaking it can be. That’s likely why a 5-year-old’s tearful video plea for the return of her dog went viral.
Madison Wallace, 5, of Akron, Ohio’s sobbing plea to help find her pup was posted on Facebook, found here, where it got 11 million views.
“If you find Buddy, please bring him home,” the little girl cries.
The news of her lost dog got so big that even her local news station FOX 8 News picked up the story.
“He’s a white dog and he has brownness right by his eyes and ears,” she told the news outlet.
Buddy does have a history of roaming around as he was found as a stray or lost dog. Madison’s father, Matt Wallace, found Buddy walking their neighborhood streets about seven months before he went missing.
“He was skin and bones, beat up, banged up, in the middle of an intersection,” explained Madison’s mom, Laura Wallace.
The Wallaces tried to find his owners but they never did so he became their dog. From that point on Buddy was a Wallace and basically their fifth child.
“He’s not just the dog; he’s our family,” said Matt Wallace.
Thankfully this story has a happy ending. After the story went viral and was posted on FOX 8 News, sightings of Buddy began to pour in and he was eventually found.
The family was absolutely ecstatic, and little Madison’s response was just as tearful as when he was lost. But this time it was tears of joy.
She is just too precious and you can tell how happy she is to have her Buddy back.
Lost pet stories don’t always have a happy ending, but we’re sure glad this one did and that the Wallace family, especially little Madison, is reunited with their four-legged family member.
