Finding an unwanted creature on your property is just part of owning a home. Usually, those unwanted creatures aren’t too bad, just gross and/or annoying. One of the most terrifying sounds you can hear is the gentle scurrying of bug legs on the floor while you are in bed!
A bug may be scary, but they are pretty easy to squish.
A few seconds and your bug problem is all but eliminated, especially once you clean up the smoosh! Taking care of a household pest isn’t all that difficult – well, usually it isn’t.
One man filmed an animal trying to get into his house and this one couldn’t be squished!
What the man caught on camera was pretty incredible. Out of his back door was a full-grown mountain lion! While Florida may be known for having some of the worst cockroaches in the U.S., Colorado definitely has them beat when it comes to mountain lions showing up at your back porch!
The family cat was hanging out at the glass door when the cougar appeared.
Whether the mountain lion was interested in a mid-afternoon snack or he was curious about his feline cousin, we can’t be sure. What we DO know is that this mountain lion was VERY smart.
You can see just how smart he is when he tried to open the back porch door.
Most animals don’t have opposable thumbs and neither do mountain lions. Thank goodness, too! This big cat was doing its best to open the sliding glass door and seemed to know exactly what it was doing. It would lift up its huge paw and swipe at the door, hoping to move it.
Incredibly, the housecat didn’t even seem scared!
Like a true king-of-the-house, the little feline started down his MUCH bigger cousin fearlessly. The lion stared at the little puff of fur through the glass and did its best to get inside, but the cat didn’t mind – it just sat at the glass and stared the apex predator down like it was nothing.
When the man filming told his wife, she wasn’t all that happy to hear it!
Like most people, hearing there is a dangerous animal that could kill you in an instant isn’t something that makes you happy! It’s terrifying to learn that such a creature is so near your home, let alone stalking your cat.
The family lives in Boulder, Colorado, a hotspot for cougars.
Since they feed mostly on deer, places like Colorado are perfect for them. Generally, however, they will avoid humans.
Mountain lions are our largest local predator and a critical part of our ecosystem in Boulder. Learning more about them helps us understand how to safely coexist with them. Conserving and protecting our open lands is key in this effort. If we can continue to give them plenty of space, they’ll continue to give us our space. – Your Bolder
