Nature can be beautiful, amazing, and even terrifying. When this man woke up on what he thought was an ordinary day, he had no idea what he was about to see.
For Charlie Helms, it was just another ordinary day. He was enjoying a round of golf at the Buffalo Creek Golf Club, and suddenly he saw something he would never forget. As he made his way closer to the third hole, Charlie realized that he and his friend were not the only ones on that part of the course. This was no ordinary newcomer.
A giant alligator made its way across the grass! As the creature sauntered across the course, Charlie was terrified at the size of it. “That is the biggest freakin’ alligator I have ever seen in my life!” he exclaimed as he filmed the enormous reptile through his phone’s camera.
As the gator slowly made its way in a straight line down the grass, it didn’t even seem to notice the two men staring at it. Charlie simply could not believe what he was seeing. “I think that’s two guys in an alligator suit,” he speculated. He was at a total loss for what this giant creature could be doing on a golf course.
Charlie’s friend, Dave, ventured a little closer to the gator to record it for himself. He wanted to prove its enormous size to his friends, but he did not dare to wander too close to the animal. It would definitely be intimidating to see an animal that size only feet away!
Finally, the alligator turned his path away from the two golfers. It seemed to head out toward the surrounding trees. Charlie watched with relief as it disappeared behind a gentle hill. This was certainly not the experience he had expected when he’d grabbed his golf clubs earlier that morning.
Nature has an abundance of surprises in store for each of us, from breathtaking views to terrifying animals. This humongous alligator is not something Charlie or Dave will forget anytime soon.
