The life of an energetic pup looks exhausting. We see them play, chase and run all day and sometimes it seems like they’ll never tire.

Eventually, though, they play until they physically can’t go on and it can make for a pretty hilarious sight.

An adorable video has surfaced of Major – an utterly exhausted German Shepherd Dog, chilling out by the side of his pool.

After a full day of activities, Major’s owner found him curled up on the steps of their pool, too tired to move, let alone climb out of the pool.

In the video, you can see Major resting his head on the edge of the pool while his hind legs dangle lazily in the water.

Throughout the whole video, Major looks extremely content while his brothers look on curiously.

Don’t worry though, Major’s exhaustion has been the result of a fun-filled day and he’s in no danger while being supervised by his mom.

For German Shepherds, in particular, pool play and water exercise is a fantastic way to keep your pup fit and healthy especially when they reach an older age.

This is because as a breed they tend to have trouble with their joints and so by placing them in water and exercising them this way, there is no weight or strain being put on their fragile joints.

If you don’t have access to water, it’s still just as important to give your pup enough exercise to keep them happy and healthy in any way you can.

That might be something as simple as throwing a ball at a park or engaging their mental abilities with some fun obstacle courses.

These kinds of activities not only help them physically, but you’ll also see a huge improvement in their overall behavior as they become less bored and restless.

And who knows, maybe you’ll be able to capture an adorable video of your own?
