Countless animals all over the world have been subject to terrible abuse and neglect.
The staggering increase of animal cruelty cases reported every day is just the tip of the iceberg. Most of the time, these cases are just being ignored as people continue to be deaf to their cries and won’t bat an eyelid at their suffering. And one of the animals whose abuse is most often reported in dogs.
That is why lots of animal rescue groups or organizations work harder to save these animals and educate people by raising awareness about this sad reality.
As the saying goes, not all heroes wear capes, some of them wear plain white shirts and sip coffee first thing in the morning.

I just…Posted by Eldad on Thursday, October 11, 2012
For eight years, Eldad Hagar has been volunteering with other rescue organizations in the Los Angeles area. However, at one point, he starts to feel like a burden on the main organization where he is volunteering because he tends to gravitate towards the most challenging rescues, often saving animals with the most pressing and complex medical state.
And these conditions often require thousands of dollars to ensure the recovery and safety of the newly rescued animals. That is when he decides it was time to be responsible for his own fundraising association and builds Hope For Paws.
Hope For Paws is a 501 C-3 organization that rescues animals in the Los Angeles area and beyond in an effort to end animal neglect, homelessness, and abuse.
Their team rescues animals, provides veterinary care, and transfers the animals to partner adoption centers. And in one of their rescue missions, they save a very terrified German shepherd from the brink of starvation and various health complications.
A concerned citizen named Carey Linnell calls for their attention regarding a homeless German shepherd she found in a nearby area. With no place to go, the dog has been seeking shelter under a van for days. Loreta Frankonyte joins in rescuing the scared pup they will later on call Rain.
The German shepherd must have been through awful experiences for she was crying her heart out of fear during the rescue operation.
At first, she looks warily at the team as this is the first time she is seeing unfamiliar faces. Loreta tries to tame her by giving her food. However, the dog keeps crying that the team thinks she is in pain and she won’t let anyone go near her.
Turns out she is just scared at her wit’s end. The poor dog must have been through a lot of bad experiences for being this fearful. They have to barricade the area with a net so she won’t escape.
The dog is in utter distress trying her best to hide away from the team. Fortunately, Rain is such a good girl she doesn’t show any aggressiveness to Loreta and Eldad despite her fear. Unbeknownst to her, these people are going to be her saviors and will help her find a place she can finally call home.
After several attempts and so much patience, they manage to secure Rain and bring her to the hospital for a full spa treatment, and that is how she meets her future mom.
Within several days of recovery, this adorable dog has shown so much progress. From a scared little girl with a dirty coat and ears infested with flies, she becomes a sweet energetic girl who is in perfect shape and condition, who likes to show off how fast and adorable she is.
Allison Dunbar adopts Rain and renames her as Sassy Pants Dunbar. And just like her fancy name, she is also having the best moments in her life with her new family.
