When it comes to different dog breeds, one always lands in the top 10…the German Shepherd. Although they’re considered working dogs, don’t let that fool you. These large pups are incredibly smart, devoted, and ready to protect their families at any cost.
Why all the fuss?
Since they’re highly adaptable, friendly, easy to train, and loyal to their humans to a fault, they make an excellent family pet. But sometimes, they don’t like to share. Especially when another type of animal tries to steal their bed.
Videos galore
As an extremely popular breed, it’s not hard to find adorable videos of German Shepherds online. One, in particular, features a gorgeous girl named Ivory. It’s so cute that as of today, it’s been viewed more than 1.3 million times.
The cutest story
In this video, you first see the person behind the camera turn toward the stairs. There, sitting with her ears erect, you see Ivory. Something in front of her caught her attention and she’s hyper-focused on it.
What’s she looking at?
At first, you have no idea what she’s focused on. But then, her owner moves the camera to an area downstairs. That’s when you see it. Lying on “her” bed is the family’s cat. Making things worse, not only is he sprawled out but he also has some Ivory’s toys around him.
Time to investigate
Without Ivory’s owner saying a word, this pup quickly and quietly makes her way over to the bed. She wants to know why the cat thinks that’s his spot. We can imagine this dog thinking, “Excuse me…that’s not yours.”
The stare-off
Ivory then gets closer to the cat and for several seconds, just stares. To most animals, that would be intimidating. But not this cat. He’s looking away as if he doesn’t have a care in the world.
Things intensify
That’s when Ivory hovers directly over the kitty. This time, he leans back since this pup has now entered his bubble. Initially, you think something bad might happen. But that’s not this dog’s style of dealing with problems.
“I’m out of here”
Soon, the cat decides he’s had enough. So, he tries to stand up and leave. But Ivory gently uses her nose to push him back onto the bed, followed by sniffing him. Trying to act tough, the kitty puts his paw in the air.
Getting upset
Ivory isn’t backing down. That’s when the cat lets out a couple of hisses to let her know he doesn’t think the game is very fun. Like a bolt of lightning, he scrambles into another room. The pup follows a few steps and then stops.
Checking things out
Ivory immediately heads to her bed, sniffs around, and then trots down the hall looking for the kitty. Come to find out, she didn’t want her bed at all…she just didn’t want the cat to have it.
We have a feeling the next time this cat decides to nap on Ivory’s bed, he might think twice. Although he finally ran away, this German Shepherd handled the situation perfectly. She was gentle while getting her point across.
