It’s a well-known fact that dogs are good at socializing, and thus, they can easily form bonds with others. This is also why they are perfect pets in most households. It’s simply wonderful to see our dogs make friends with other dogs, or perhaps even animals of different species.
Here is a great example of a French Bulldog making friends with a larger animal.
French bulldogs, otherwise known as French bullies or Frenchies, are one of the most energetic lapdogs in the world. With their small stature and wrinkled face, they have a ton of personality, which makes everyone adore them. Most importantly, this particular dog breed is friendly to humans and other animals.
One day, a French bully was out on a walk with his owner on Wall Street in New York City. However, their walk was interrupted when they stumbled upon a majestic police horse. Of course, since dogs are curious animals, the Frenchie’s interest was piqued by the horse’s presence. Instead of getting intimidated by its large size, the dog playfully approached the horse, thinking it was a huge dog.
The horse was on duty but he still had the time to amuse the little fella.
The police were there because of the Occupy Wall Street protest. Some NYPD officers brought their police horses with them and one of those horses was lucky to catch a playful break when the Frenchie came towards him. The two shared a moment, introducing themselves through sniffing each other’s noses. It didn’t take long for them to become comfortable with each other.
After just a few sniffs, the French bully suddenly became excited around the horse. The energetic dog tried to get the horse to play with him across the fence by jumping and running around in front of it. However, the horse could do nothing but stare at the little dog’s enthusiasm, though it was clear the horse enjoyed the dog’s company.
For a short while, the horse’s owner let him continue his interaction with his new canine friend even when though they were on active duty. The playful dog was more than happy to play with the horse much longer without a problem.
The dog and the horse’s adorable interaction caused a small crowd to develop around them.
Passersby began to notice the sweet display of friendship between the little dog and the horse and they decided to stay for a short while to watch them. In just a few minutes, a small crowd amassed around them and they took their smartphones out to record the interaction. Considering what was currently happening on Wall Street at that time, it was a fresh view of positivity that everyone could enjoy.
The horse and Frenchie had a great time together until the horse had to go back on duty.
As the people at the scene were awed by their unusual friendship, the same goes for the people watching it from their screens. After the video of the playful Frenchie and the police horse was uploaded online eight years ago, it racked up more than 5.8 million views on YouTube.
