Most people spot bears afar while hiking or during their trip to the zoo. But one Russian family lives, dines, plays and shares their life with a 300lb bear they named Stepan.
Stephan is a 23-year-old bear and is the son of Svetlana and Yuriy Panteleenko. Svetlana shared with Daily Mail that they had adopted Stepan when he was just a three-month-old cub. He was found in bad condition by hunters in the forest and had lost his mother.
“He absolutely loves people and is a really sociable bear – despite what people might think, he is not aggressive at all. We have never been bitten by Stepan. He’s got so many talents and loves a picnic. It’s a wonder he doesn’t eat us out of house and home,” Svetlana explained.
Now, the 23-year-old Stepan stands at over 7-feet tall and is described by his family as extremely gentle. He absolutely loves giving hugs.
The gentle brown giant dines at the table with his parents, drinking out of tea cups and eating on plates. Stepan seems to have fantastic table manners!
Stepan regularly sits on the couch, next to his pop, as he reads Stepan a storybook.
Stepan is so domesticated that he even sits in-between his mom and dad, on the couch in their living room, during the evenings as they watch television together.
Stepan LOVES to snuggle. He’s a bear filled with lots of love and cuddles to give.
They’ll even gently wrestle with Stepan in their backyard.
The adorable bear is very helpful. Stepan helps his parents around the house by watering the plants in the garden.
They love to play football and other ball games with Stepan to give him his daily dose of exercise. The bear loves to play catch. He’ll catch any ball thrown his way.
The couple keeps Stepan happy and healthy by feeding him 25kg of fish, vegetables and eggs, reported by Daily Mail. Stepan’s favorite meal, which is very Winnie-the-Pooh-like, is a can of condensed milk. A sweet treat for a beary sweet bear!
The couple’s pictures with Stepan makes us want to adopt a bear and bring him home. Stepan looks like he gives the best hugs! Share this bear-tastic story with your bear-loving friends.
