Dallas Dog Rescue Rehab Reform (DDRRR), a non-profit animal rescue organization, had two visitors at the shelter who brought one mangy pup that requires saving. The visitors told them that they found the puppy somewhere and decided to take it to the shelter. The DDRRR then immediately rushed the puppy to the vet.
The poor puppy was in a horrible condition.
The puppy can even barely open its eyes and he was so small that the staff at the shelter almost couldn’t recognize what breed it was. The staff named him Stuart. He weighs as little as 1.8 kilograms, and that could have been normal if he was a Chihuahua puppy, except he was not.
Stuart was unfortunately infested with fleas and you could just see how his skin molded his ribcage. It was clear enough that he wasn’t getting the nutrition he needed. They first fed the pup and got him temporarily treated.
However, things are worse for him that they had to get him treated somewhere else
Stuart’s condition was way worse than they thought. They rushed him to the ER vet because he needed an immediate blood transfusion due to his blood work being dangerously low. He battled for more than 24 to 48 hours, and even though he seemed like giving up, he desperately fought for his life.
“He has come out of his transfusion pretty well,” DDRRR told The Dodo.
They also thanked the vet for clearing all the ticks and fleas that were infesting the poor pup’s body.
With the help of his rescuers, Stuart is steadily making progress in his recovery.
DDRRR is doing the best they can to save Stuart’s life and let him live like a normal pup. He was then sent to a willing foster so he could get have a better and comfortable life during his recovery.
His skin started to improve, also just after four or five days of staying with his foster mom, Susan, he began to act like a real puppy. It’s just adorable seeing him play with the other puppies in the foster home.
Two years later, this is how the emaciated mangy puppy became.
After fighting for two years, Stuart grew up to be a huge yet adorable Pitbull. He was extremely playful that he’d leave you out of breath chasing him in the park.
He learned to show affection to the family, and even Susan caught him napping on his brother, Shane’s chest one day. Shane of course fell in love with the pooch and told Susan that he wanted to adopt him for good.
Stuart’s happy dog life.
It’s quite unbelievable how the once 1.8-pound puppy turned into this gentle giant. When Shane brought him home, his life turned out the best for him. Since Shane works in the music industry at Austin, Stuart could always have free car rides with him.
He’s also popular in where Shane works that they leave some treats for him. Furthermore, while Shane is working, he spends most of his time at the dog park which is just right outside. He met new friends, and even a girlfriend named Blakely. Stuart had become the happiest dog in the world before they even knew it.
