Kerry Dune and the others were so astonished that they just froze on the spot. The majestic creature walks towards the pool and stretches its trunk in the water. The elephant just minds his own business, drinking water from his trunk, while the people try their best not to make sudden movements to scare it away.

The elephant acknowledges their presence and deems the people harmless.

He reaches his trunk in the water for the second time and drinks from it once again. When it seems like the creature finally quenched his thirst, he gently flaps his gigantic ears and walks back into the wild. You could even see him waving his ear at the end, making it look like he is saying goodbye.

Many people asked whether the swimming pool contained chlorine, which could be harmful for the majestic visitor. But worry not, Kerry clarified that it was non-chlorinated and safe to drink. Let’s be thankful that he was able to tape such a wonderful scene for us to witness.

The internet had a lot of things to say about this.

Many people left funny comments on the video where they tried to imagine what the elephant was thinking. One user wrote:

“Hm, those chimps are getting more weird everyday…”

Another commenter got a bit punny with their response:

“At least he brought his own swimming trunks lol”

Another YouTube commenter also imagined what the elephant’s Yelp review would be like:

“Meanwhile on Elephant Yelp:Water is not chlorinated but the staff is rather rude and unresponsive. 1/5 will not visit again.'”

The campsite is not barricaded with fences so that they can just roam around freely. It is also nice to see that these mammals are used to the presence of humans. It would truly be fascinating to be just meters away from the elephants. So, if you’d like to experience a little bit of peaceful African wildlife just outside your doors, this is a perfect bucket-list destination.
