We first met Olive in June of 2017 when her owner started an Instagram page for the beautiful cat.
Since then, she’s amassed a following of over 18,000 fans and counting.

Nicknamed Odd-Eyed Olive, the pretty kitty has a condition known as sectoral heterochromia iridum, which causes the iris of the eye to be more than one color.
Cats’ eyes can be some combination of blue, orange, and yellow. (Humans can have the condition as well.)

While the white Oriental shorthair’s trait is unusual, it does tend to happen more often in white cats.
The genes for fur color and eye color are closely related.

Olive lives with her mom Kim in Derby, England. And when Kim purchased her on a pet sale website, she had no idea about the condition because Olive was just a kitten and the color of her eyes wasn’t completely developed yet.
As she’s gotten older, her eyes have become more intense and multicolored.

According to the Daily Mail, her owner said:
“It got the kittens on a pet-for-sale website. I was looking for another kitty to join the family to make it 4. I wanted a lively kitten to fit in with my others. I didn’t chose her for her eyes. It was quite dark and when I picked her the lady lifted her into the light and said she may have odd-looking eyes. I didn’t know how her eyes would turn out.”

If you’ve ever owned multiple cats it should come as no surprise that there’s no photo of all four cats that live in the house together.
But Olive’s siblings – while not genetic anomalies – are just as beautiful as she is.

Her best feline friend in the house is Charlie.
She merely tolerates the other residents, one of which is Fifi.

While white cats with multicolored eyes also tend to be deaf or have limited vision, Olive doesn’t have any of those health issues, thankfully.
And while the cats are mostly kept indoors, they do get some supervised outdoor playtime on occasion.

We have to admit that while Olive is clearly the beauty in the family, the videos of Charlie being, well, less than a genius are endlessly amusing as well.

While the captions on Olive’s photos don’t give us much more information, they say a picture’s worth a thousand words.
In that case, the 170+ photos of this gorgeous family allow us to piece together some of their lives. And the videos are even better.
These happy cats have clearly got it made over in their English city with their lovely home full of toys and their lush, green backyard.
