The ocean’s crystalline saltwater is home to various wild animals. As the animals live their lives in the vast blue expanse, plenty of wholesome stories happen there without our knowledge. Fortunately, with wildlife documentaries, we get a glimpse of nature’s beauty.
This baby seal was separated from the pack and had been swimming all on his own.
A Canadian Animal Protection Organization and the television channel Love Nature were able to document the story of this poor baby seal. This seal pup was left on the shores, and he was looking confused as to why he could not see his parents around.
After he finished exploring every nook and cranny on the shore, he decided to go on a quest to find the rest of the seals out in the open sea.
The seal pup started riding on the sea’s waves, but after some time, the seal pup felt exhausted from flapping its flippers all day. The seal could barely swim a hundred meters away from the beach, but he still continued to try despite the exhausting heat of the sun.
The seal pup felt like giving up on life, but then a pod of dolphins came.
The beach was now far away from him and he was too tired to go on. Some curious seagulls even tried pecking on some floating blubber as they found idly floating on the water, but it was just the seal pup being too exhausted to give a response. After some time, Love Nature witnessed several shadows in the water heading toward the baby seal.
What the camera captured was a bunch of bottlenose dolphins swimming together to their destination. However, when the dolphins saw the struggling seal pup, they took a detour to approach him. The family of dolphins circled the baby seal as if they were assessing the whole situation. The moment that they realized that the seal pup was about to give up on swimming, they encouraged the seal pup by giving him some gentle nudges.
With the dolphins’ help, the young seal was able to regain its hope and confidence to swim.
The dolphins left the seal pup the moment they knew he had regained his energy. As the dolphins’ nudges magically encouraged the baby seal, he finally dove into the deeper parts of the sea in search of his family.
Dolphins’ mysterious altruistic behavior has been witnessed many times.
There are several stories from people who survived in the sea because of these particular species of dolphins. Bottlenose dolphins show altruism toward different creatures, and there are even instances wherein they have saved humans from shark attacks. These dolphins’ behavior is just a mystery that no one could decipher.
Nature can be quite horrible and scary at times. However, we forget to appreciate its beauty and realize how much it has done for us. Most of the time, we just miss the beautiful fleeting moments and wonders that nature has in store for us and sometimes we just need some nudges to see the beauty of things once in a while.
