A school bus for pups
Arat Montoya lives in West Linn, Oregon and owns a school bus. At first glance, he may seem like your usual bus driver but here’s the twist: Arat is not the owner of any school bus, he drives the Doggie School Bus and picks up puppies to drive them to school!
On an average day, Arat drives about 20 dogs but on a busy day, there can be as many as 35 dogs on his school bus! The pups are usually very impatient to get on the bus and simply can’t wait for Arat to give them a lift!
In fact owners say their dogs get super excited at the mention of going to ‘school’.
Arat is passionate about his job and loves to be around dogs
Arat says that he got the idea for a doggie bus from his Gold Scion car.
“I put the striped to make it look like a school bus,” Arat told the media, “I got 16 customers in like 2 weeks.”
Things have been going really well for Arat so far and today he has over 300 customers and picks up an average of 20 dogs a day. Most importantly, he is really passionate about his job.
“He’s always happy when he comes come and he loves going,” one customer said of Arat.
It’s only the beginning!
Despite the success he’s had so far Arat has big plans for expanding his business. He’s already purchased a bigger bus that will make it possible to pick up even more dogs!
The ‘school’ Arat drives his pups to every day, is, in fact, a five-acre property near West Linn where the dogs can get their exercise and have the opportunity to socialize and play with other canines.
Running a successful business is all about finding what you’re passionate about and putting your creativity to work. Arat has been able to utilize his love of dogs to create a successful business. It doesn’t take a lot to make these adorable pups happy.
A dog bus is an ideal solution for dog owners
Traveling with your dog on public transport can be a hassle. In some states, you may not be able to bring your dog with you on the bus and if you do, some restrictions or additional charges may apply.
A doggie bus presents an elegant solution to that problem. Dogs are really enthusiastic about it, as they get the chance to spend time around other dogs while their owners don’t have to worry about possible restrictions!
