Remember the 19th-century fairy tale Goldilocks and the Three Bears? The one where poor Baby Bear discovered someone a.k.a. Goldilocks had not only eaten his porridge and broken his chair, but was sound asleep in his bed!
“Someone’s been sleeping in my bed and she’s still there!”
One poor pupper had a similar encounter with none other than his arch-enemy, the family’s cat. Mom discovered that something was awry when she heard her beautiful black dog throwing quite a loud tantrum.
She whipped out her camera and began recording the comical incident. The cute canine only wanted to lay down in her bed, but can’t because of the darn cat.
It becomes a battle of the wills, with Kitty Cat hiding under the blanket on the dog bed the entire time Darling Dog howls, whines, snarls, barks and snaps. The cat could truly care less about the fuss her doggie brother is pitching and isn’t about to budge one inch from her spot.
“Oh no! There’s a cat on your bed.”
The pooch continues to whine weirdly, mingled with some short barks aimed directly at the cat. Very well played doggo!
“Can’t you get the cat to move? I don’t think she cares.”
Next comes a slew of whining, howling and all-around generally grumpiness from the poor dog who only wants to lay down on her bed. She definitely isn’t interested in sharing it.
When she glances up at her mom, she’s wide-eyed and looks slightly crazy, even a bit panicky. Poor girl!
Mom lifts up the blanket and exposes the cat who barely moves, only to glance in Mom’s direction. The four-legged furious furball continues to launch a loud tirade.
Typical of many cats, the striking black and white beauty doesn’t budge. She has no interest in sharing the bed that doesn’t even belong to her. She remains there, lounging, stoic and unfazed by the barking pooch.
The hooman gives her gorgeous distraught dog a good head rub who quite frankly doesn’t care – she only wants her darn bed back! It’s a battle of the wills to the very end, but alas we don’t find out if doggo wins or if the calm cat ends up victorious instead.
Sometimes a dog will drag the bed in an attempt to unceremoniously dump the offender on the ground. This poor pooch has no interest in getting close enough to the cat to force it off. She’s definitely treading carefully!
Some dogs and cats get along beautifully, living harmoniously in the same home. But others just don’t see eye to eye and are in constant conflict. If this Wild Wild West standoff is any indication, these two probably aren’t the best of friends.
