When we hear stories of someone who “stole the show,” it usually means that someone’s performance overshadowed everyone else present, usually in an unexpected way! In group performances like orchestras and choirs, you don’t expect standout individuals because skill is measured in someone’s ability to stay with everyone else. In one orchestra in Turkey, though, there was one member who stole the hearts AND the show.
One dog in Turkey became famous after an incredible surprise “performance.”
The Vienna Chamber Orchestra is an Austrian based chamber orchestra that was founded in 1946. As far as orchestral fame goes, they have quite the pedigree! They have their own orchestral hall and are quite famous for what they do.
The group was performing in Turkey when they had an intruder show up.
Traveling around and performing at some of the most beautiful places in the world seems like a pretty good gig. People from all across the world come to see your performances and sit in the beauty of a professional orchestral set. However, while these world-renowned musicians were performing, they noticed someone who didn’t belong.
Dubbed “the cutest moment in classical music,” one dog wanted in on the action.
With the conductor swaying, hands flying in the air while directing the group, we notice a special guest enter from stage right. It’s a dog! The musicians are in the middle of a professional performance and a stray dog just cruises on in to hang out.
The dog strolls up, not causing any issues.
This dog was pretty confused about what was going on. Hearing a lot of noise and commotion, he was probably just checking out the party! When the dog walks into the camera shot, the audience loves it.
Sauntering slowly to the middle of the group, the dog takes a seat.
When the dog gets closer to the conductor, the audience can’t help but laugh! It’s not causing any disruptions and doesn’t seem to even realize what is going on.
Clapping and cheering, the dog has officially stolen the show.
Without even trying, the dog stole the show from a group of professional musicians who are pouring their hearts out in their performance! Sitting down next to one of the violinists, the dog is ready for a nap. When the violinist notices his new furry friend, he can’t help but smile and laugh.
Even the conductor lets out a chuckle when he sees the dog.
Once the conductor notices the little guy, nobody knows what is going to happen next! Thankfully, he just chuckles and continues on with the show. When you are performing outside you probably have to be prepared for any type of distractions.
Even though he “stole the show,” it really just added to it.
There is always something appreciated about the unexpected, especially in performances. It ensures the genuine aspect of something that is designed to be staged. In moments like this, the performance was added to, not subtracted from, the dog showing up.
Who doesn’t need a little comic relief sometimes?
A little comedy is always appreciated in moments of grandeur. There is a reason the video was viewed over 1.3 million times! It seems people love the combination of dogs and the orchestra.
