As a driver, you don’t always know what to expect on the road. Andrei Matei was on his way home after visiting his girlfriend and suddenly saw a couple of blurs on the highway just ahead of him. He realized there could be an animal nearby he could hit, so he slowed down the car and looked around carefully.
It didn’t take long before he realized that these blurs were actually three adorable baby puppies who were in desperate need of help.
The highway was a very dangerous place to be for these four-footers and Andrei knew that he needed to pull over and help his new canine friends.
“I immediately braked and stopped the car, and started going backwards,” the man said to The Dodo. “I went out of the car and there were three puppies, jumping on my leg and very happy. They did not have any idea that they were one inch close to death.”
As you might expect, Andrei was a little bit flabbergasted about the whole thing and wasn’t sure what he’d do next. However, he hit it off immediately with these cute pups and wanted to make sure that they would end up somewhere safe. Andrei then took the three friendly puppies with him on a long drive to his place.
These pups definitely didn’t mind hanging out in Andrei’s car and even seemed to appreciate the kind man’s company.
The three musketeers even managed to fall asleep at the same time in Andrei’s car, and it’s truly a sight to behold.
When the man finally arrived back home, he posted some pictures of his three new friends on his Facebook page. One of his friends recommended him to get in touch with an animal rescuer, who agreed to meet up with Andrei to see if the pups were in need of medical assistance.
It turned out that all three pups were quite young, five weeks old at maximum.
The four-footers were infested with fleas but weren’t suffering from any other medical issues at all, which indicates that they hadn’t been on the highway for a long time. The rescuer thinks that these pups might’ve simply been abandoned by their previous owner on the road. An absolute terrible thing to do, but these pups never stopped smiling ever since they met their savior Andrei.
At that point, Andrei had to part ways with the three pups knowing that they would be in the very capable hands of the animal rescuers. The man checked in afterward to see how his puppy buddies were doing.
“I left after with her promise that all the pups will be fine and that she will take care finding them new homes,” the man recalls. “I checked after one week on her Facebook page and all the pups were with their new families, safe and happy.”
