Dog not ready to go home so he plays dead on busy street causing quite the scene
Vincent knows exactly what he's doing. Poor dad! 😂

Dogs get so excited when heading out for a walk or a ride, especially if the destination might involve a dog park, a pupachino or the chance to run around with other four-legged buddies. Some dogs will even grab their leash and carry it to their owner in their mouths, compelling their humans to get moving!

These cute canines spin around in circles and start panting with enthusiasm. Maybe they even do a little doggie four-step prance at the door, willing it to open so they can spring outside. They’ll stare out the window, dreaming of all that lies before them beyond the door.

Of course dogs need exercise, but many love socializing with other pooches and simply being out of the house on an adventure. Nicola Booth happened to be at the beach in Gold Coast, Queensland, when the Australia resident spied the biggest drama king canine she’d seen.

Vincent the golden retriever is the cutest pupper. He was so happy to go for a walk with his dad that when it was time to head home, he dug in his heels and refused to budge – literally!

The theatrics Vincent employs in order to extend his stay at the park and not leave are hilarious. People like Nicola even stop and stare, capturing his antics on video.

Nicola’s video of Vincent’s meltdown right there on the sidewalk has gone viral, being viewed more than one million times. The comments are hilarious, too!

Facebook user Karen Gittoes noted how her dog Bob “used to do stuff like that.”

“So embarrassing!”

Nicola felt sorry for Vincent’s human who had to deal with a major puppy tantrum. For the most part, Vincent’s dad retained his composure, even has spectators laughed out loud.

“Next time you get irritated by your dog for being too slow on their walk, spare a thought for this dog owner I met this morning.”

While they’re trying to stroll off and head home after an afternoon out on the town, Vincent suddenly flops down. This apparently isn’t Vincent’s first time engaging in this curtain-raising performance.

He appears to be a superstar at this game!

Dad drops the bright orange leash, looks down at his pooch and then rubs his face with a bit of frustration. It’s as if he’s willing his dog to hop up, but that’s not happening any time soon. Vincent has his own schedule and motive.

Onlookers start cracking up when Dad grabs ahold of Vincent’s paw and the golden retriever pulls away. Dad sweetly pats his belly while passersby stare. Even Nicola can be heard laughing on camera at Vincent’s stint on the sidewalk.

“I’m going. Bye”

Vincent pays no mind to dad’s bid goodbye. He is protesting having to go home with quite the grandiose gesture.

In fact, Vincent probably is thinking: if you leave, then that means there’s more time for me here! Dad can go right ahead and take off.

Vincent rises to his haunches and gives himself a good scratch, paying no mind to his dad who has walked off. Dad whistles and the promise of a treat rouses Vincent just a wee bit.

But only a bit…

Vincent plops his puppy butt right back down on the concrete and flops all of the way down on the ground. He’s really letting his dad know over and over again that he just doesn’t want to go home.

Dad tries pulling him gently by the leash for just a bit, but Vincent isn’t budging. Dad tosses the leash again and walks away, stops and turns back toward Vincent, trying to scold him. But he’s too darn cute!

“Absolutely not!”

The dog flops down yet again and rolls onto his back, all four paws up in the air. His playing ‘possum isn’t working with pops who stalks back toward the comical character and lifts up his paws.

But Vincent isn’t moving. Dad nudges him gently with his foot. But nope, he’s not going anywhere.

Dad promises a treat and Vincent pops right up, but locks up and digs in his heels until a lady brings over her adorable dog. Vincent strolls over, tail wagging, eager to meet a new friend.

It’s as if he’s completely forgotten that Dad wanted to go home.

He seems to love this buddy and her human, but as soon as they walk off, Vincent melts into a puddle down onto the ground again. People on bicycles steer around him and the crowd observing his pup’s production is growing in size.

Dad tries yet again to take off, but Vincent doesn’t care. He wilts again onto the ground.

But when Vincent spies his dad standing in line to get a treat at a snack shop, he springs right up and trots over to his dad. Food apparently is the surefire way to get Vincent to skedaddle!

Vincent definitely knows how to call the shots in this dynamic duo and pushes Dad’s patience to the limit. But he sure is cute!

Watch him in the video below and you’ll surely crack up like the onlookers!
